Beau Site - Antica Residenza
Ranked #615 of 1,272 Hotels in Rome
Reviewed 18 March 2014

All that needs to be said about this hotel is "outstanding", the location is bang on, the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, the breakfast is great and as LeeGW said you are right opposite the bus stop for the sightseeing tour bus. All the attractions are within walking distance from the hotel if you prefer walking and you are given a map on arrival that points out every one of them. When we go back to Rome we will be staying at the Beau Site again.

The hotel is in the perfect location to explore Rome, the colosseum, Spanish steps, Vatican, Trevi Fountain, are all within walking distance, With the Spanish steps being just 5 minutes away. Fabrizio was a most welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Paolo was also very helpful when we were trying to book tickets for the various places we wanted to visit and their recommendations on restaurants were spot on. Given the hotel only has 7 rooms it makes for a very welcoming and almost family atmosphere. The rooms were very clean and always had fresh towels. Thank you to Fabrizio, mum and Paolo for a wonderful welcome and for all your help

I visited Rome with my mother on March 2014 for 3 nights. As with any city break, we had a lot to see in a relatively short amount of time. With this in mind and from my personal experience, a good hotel choice is absolutely imperative this hotel was quite literally the perfect choice.

My experience with Beau Site started before I even arrived. I had been in contact with the delightfully friendly and helpful owner Fabrizio via email regarding hotel transfer, he efficiently arranged a reasonably priced transfer for us. As promised the driver was waiting for us upon our arrival in Rome, a great start. Upon our arrival at the hotel (which was 23:00 at night) Fabrizio greeted us at the entrance and helped us to our room. The check in was smooth and Fabrizio was very clear on explaining access, breakfast times, the amenities available and showing us to our room.

The room was very good, it was a twin as specified, it was clean, a great temperature, lovely large bathroom, very reasonably priced and importantly it had a comfortable bed. It also had a free safe and a well-stocked, reasonably priced mini bar.

In the morning we awoke on a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the continental breakfast on offer, we were offered tea/coffee, fresh juice and fresh pastries. The breakfast room is bright and welcoming with great views of Ludovisi from the windows.

Last but definitely not least, the location. Please don’t underestimate the important of this, this hotel is PERFECTLY situated. I previously stayed in Rome, and really didn’t enjoy my trip it based on the location of my hotel. Beau Site is located in Ludovisi, which is a very safe, quiet and beautiful part of Rome. You can walk to the Spanish steps (which happens to be the centre of the shopping district) in 5-7 minutes. You can walk to Barbarini Square (which is where you can find the metro station and lots of places to eat and drink) in 5-7 minutes. The hop-on hop-off bus tour stop is situated right outside the front door of the hotel. You could quite literally NOT find a better location if you tried.

Thank you Fabrizio for making our stay so special. I would happily recommend this hotel to anybody, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Room 203 had a large, easily openable window and a great shower.

Excellent hotel location with access to most tourist attractions. Also right next to a bus stop that connects you to most of the tourist attractions in rome. Feels like home and most importantly everything is perfectly cleaned. Management knows thier business well and its very well equiped with most amenities! They have taste for nice decorations! The boss is very friendly and helpful and most of all it comes with very good breakfast. I would say it was the best breakfast we had ever in Rome so far. No doubts that i will insist all my friends to stay here in rome the next time. Well done Beau site!

The hotel is walking distance to the Spanish Steps as well as other historical sites. Fabricio and Linda are very helpful in providing tips and services in the area. Their breakfast is excellent and very well stocked. I strongly recommend that people visit Caffe Leonardo near the Spanish Steps.

Loved this hotel! My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights and have nothing but great things to say about there. The room was very large, the staff were helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast. The espresso machine was a nice perk! Would definitely stay again if I have the opportunity to go back.

Room Tip: Vladamiros around the corner was a delicious restaurant.

My girlfriend kindly treated me to a trip to Rome for my birthday. We arrived in January and after an awful journey from the airport to the City centre (due to road closures caused by non stop rain for over 13 hours!!) we were greeted by a lovely friendly lady who we found out was the owners mother.

Her English wasn't great but her warmth and smile and general willingness meant we understood everything and she checked us in to our lovely room efficiently.

The rooms wont provide the ultimate wow factor as some of the art-decor hotels might but they were clean and had everything needed for great City break away. Bathroom was well equipped with a good shower, incredibly clean and the room itself was a decent size with a bed that was much needed after all the walking we did!

It's based in a more residential neighbourhood but this is no bad thing, it adds a little calmness to your day when you've been wandering around busy attractions and beautiful streets of the historical centre of Rome.

It takes not long at all to walk to the Spanish Steps (5 minutes) and the Trevi Fountain is around a 15-20 minute stroll. Rome is made for walking with how stunning it is so get moving!

We met the owner who was often there in the evening always saying hello and asking after us, a very friendly man who clearly takes great pride in his hotel. He also allowed us to leave our luggage there on the last day so we could continue exploring.

Breakfast was lovely with coffee/juice and some croissants provided along with a few other little snacks. Bearing in mind breakfast isn't huge in Italy this is all that is needed and what's provided is of good quality.

I don't know the cost as it was a gift but it appears great value for money and if I return to Rome (which I hopefully will - with it being sunnier next time!!) I would have no hesitations about staying here. Perfect hotel for a trip to this stunning place.

A unique place, where the guest is the center of everything, welcomed and pampered from the initial smile to the last goodbye, which always leaves a taste of sweet nostalgia to everyone. This is the daily experience at Beau Site, luxurious Boutique Hotel in Via Ludovisi, an elegant street in the heart of Rome, just a few steps away from the magnificent Villa Borghese, that links Via Veneto, birthplace of La Dolce Vita, to Via Sistina, from which guests will reach in a few minutes the most attractive architectural, historical and artistic sights, such as the stairway of Trinità dei Monti, Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Via del Corso and Piazza Navona. The beautiful building where our Antica Residenza is located was built by the famous family of Roman architects Busiri Vici and came originally with the idea of a private home; then, the tranquility, sophistication and exclusivity of the location suggested the restructuring of a portion of the building, in order to create a jewel of hospitality that could ensure class, privacy and relaxation. The elegant décor, the style of the impeccable service and the comfort of each of the environments create a charming atmoshpere that makes pleasurable and memorable even the shortest stay. The Beau Site is a residence which is historical, but still Hi-Tech: the free WiFi and the iPad, available to our customers, are just some of the small details that contribute to create a balanced union of style and efficiency. In the morning, in the Bow Window room (unique in its genre) the continental breakfast is served on a buffet full of sweet and salted meals, always fresh and accompanied by the best Italian coffee and typical products.A special selection of drinks was made by a Sommelier especially for guests of Beau Site, even the most demanding ones. All is provided by a special service in the Bow Window dining room, or in total discretion in your bedroom.Among the various services offered: LCD satellite TV, free WiFi access, free AirPrint, check-in online for flights, online "jump-the-line" bookings for the Vatican Museums, Colosseum, Borghese Gallery etc., send/receive fax, transfer to/from airports, city guides, bookings for tours, open top bus, personal shopper, car rental.Who’s choosing our Boutique Hotel Beau Site knows what he will find, but never expects what being in this unique place really means, until he discovers by himself, being pleasantly surprised. ... more   less
