When we were in Rome, we were told to visit this restaurant and we were also told that they serve Sardinian style. We wen. We did not know what Sardinian style was, but by the end of our meal, we understood!
Whenever we know of others who will be traveling to Rome, we tell them not to miss this wonderful restaurant. They are gracious and welcoming. We ordered wine and before we knew fabulous rustic bread and large antipasti platters of deliciously prepared and attractively arranged foods were brought to our table. There were platters of roasted eggplant, zucchini, assorted olives, wonderful salamis, assorted meats and cheeses. It was all such a surprise and so scrumptious and we filed ourselves on all this amazing food when another surprise came along. We were then presented with the restaurant's menu to choose our dinner! Who would have known! Well we ordered and again the food was delicious. After dinner, we were given frozen Italian ice presented in either frozen lemon or orange shells, coffee, followed up by the host graciously offering us some Italian Grappa.
We returned again during the remainder of our Roman holiday and we never fail to tell our friends and family do be sure to find time to have a wonderful gastronomical experience at Hosteria Unione Sarda. They go equipped with the knowledge to pace themselves because all those trays are not their dinner, but are meant as servings of antipasto before the main course. Everyone returns with rave reviews! I woudl return to Rome for that restaurant in a heart beat!
