“Omnia Vatican and Rome pass”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Waste of money. We could not get on the tour of the Vatican city - wrongly indicated on the map and not given info regarding times and closure on the day we wanted to go. We wasted hours searching for the invisible bus-stops for the tour bus. Also the invisible office to pick up the pass next to the cathedral S. Giovanni in Laterano - lack of adequate directions on the email we were sent. We only found this thanks to two helpful American tourists. We could not get into the Borghese art gallery - you have to book weeks in advance online.
Some of the things we did do such as the Vatican museum we could have accessed easily by going in the afternoon. St. Peter's is free after 4.30 pm.

“Ridiculously busy”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

They really should limit the number of people. Admittedly we went just after Easter and thankfully we'd booked in advance so jumped the queue. Our guide knew her stuff but had to keep apologising for moving us on as she seemed more concerned that we didn't create a blockage. At the end of the tour we could have spent additional time by ourselves taking time to view things properly but the number of people made the whole experience unbearable.

“Depends on the guide”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We signed up for the 3.5 hours one, but after an hour and a half, it was clear that the guide does not have strong knowledge or interesting stuff to share, so he kept on repeating the same things about how big or small the statues and sculptures were to make them look life-sized. My verdict is that it really depends on the guide. This is not a critique of the Vatican Museums or City. On hindsight, I would have saved the money and gone with a much shorter tour and roamed around on our own.

“No Place Like This!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We were there off season so the lines were very reasonable. Even so we bought skip the line tour tickets and had a great guide. The Vatican Museum is nearly indescribable. The collection of Art is unrivaled and you cannot possibly take it all in during a single visit. The Sistine Chapel is amazingly beautiful. I'm not Catholic however I recommend anyone see this place. Following the Vatican tour we went to St. Peter's Basilica. Wow!!!

“Amazing place, shame about the guide.”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We paid about 60 euros for the tour and we were rushed around as if the guide had somewhere better to be. The Vatican is an amazing place, the Raphael rooms and the Sistine chapel are fantastic. Just remember,, ssshhhh no talking in the chapel.

Book your tickets in advance and consider getting an audio guide. We'd hoped booking the tour direct with the Vatican was the best option, although in hindsight this wasn't the case.
