B&B Palazzo del Duca

Stayed 4 nights in September--mainly because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. We truly enjoyed the Palazzo. A fabulous location in our favorite Roman neighborhood. Two bedrooms shared a lovely living room where a delicious breakfast was served. We paid $300 US a night and it did seem a little on the high end for what we got. Basically, as someone else mentioned, it was like staying in a friend's apartment--not a hotel with amenities. ( Shampoo and shower cap but no bars of soap or tissue--had to ask for tp when we ran out--there was liquid soap and a market close by to buy conditioner and drinking water, etc.) We were on the 2nd floor which has the highest ceilings --15th century building --looks out onto a picturesque street. Our room (average sized but with those high ceilings and sound proofed window) lacked a proper closet--there was an armoire with 6 hangers in a loft but we ended up hanging our clothes on the stairway rather than run up and down. No shower but bath with a hose. Beds were comfy. We were taken aback when we first arrived because there is no sign-just a buzzer-also it was very quiet and we were there alone most of the time we never saw anyone else--even turned lights on and off like we were staying in a private apartment--had to fuss with the keys--unlock 4 doors to get into our room.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay in this inviting bed and breakfast. The accommodations were lovely, the food delightfully prepared and presented, and the hosts most welcoming, helpful, and personable. The atmosphere was a feeling of being a guest in a friend's home--very warm and special. We enjoyed the "sitting room" where we had our generous breakfasts in a beautifully decorated parlor. The location of the residence was perfect--near many attractions. Because of all the "must see" sights in Rome, coming "home" to the Palazza del Duca never ceased to re-energize and renew our bodies and spirits. If we have the pleasure of visiting Rome again, we will definitely return to Palazza del Duca.

We had a fantastic stay at Palazzo del Duca. Paulo was helpful and the place is spotless. The location is close to everything and, for those pizza lovers, the "best pizza in Rome" (according to many who lined up each night) is right near by. For those who want to stay in a true Roman location this is the place.

If you want a little history then you can't get better than the Palazzo del Duca. Still in the hands of its original owners, the Palazzo dates back five centuries and includes a huge ornate reception room where Popes and other dignatories were entertained by the family (minstrels) in the long distant past .

The apartment we stayed in comprised of two bedrooms (ours was double height with a loft style area above the bathroom) and the large reception room that doubles as the breakfast room. With its beautifully painted ceiling, full length shuttered windows with juliet balcomies and friezes depicting the history of the family, the reception room is really something special and a splendid place for eating the sumptuous breakfast (and resting afterwards).

The Palazzo's location in the old city close to the Piazza Navona is great. Surrounded by a maze of tiny cobbled lanes navigable only by foot, scooter or smart car, you get a bit lost at first, but don't care because around every corner is another fantastic little street, architectural gem, pizzeria or bar.

A particularly nice touch was the 30 minutes that Paulina (our hostess) took to explain where to eat, shop, do our sightseeing and so on. As far as eating was concerned we stuck (pretty much) to her advice and were not disappointed.

As you have probably guessed, we loved the place. It is a B&B though, albeit a lovely one, so don't expect it to be like a five star hotel; bath, but no shower in the ensuite and dubious cappucinos at breakfast time, but the place and your hosts are so charming these things don't matter in the slightest. Not for everybody, but fantastic for most.

It couldn't have been better. I was traveling with my spouse and another couple, and we shared the floor to ourselves (two rooms, a living/dining area that was beautifully decorated and comfortable). A breakfast buffet was prepared each morning at 8:30, and it was delicious! The location is close to everything, and it is very clean. It felt like a home away from home.
Would strongly recommend this place and would most definitely return!

Palazzo del Duca is by far the most splendid hotel/B&B accommodation in Rome. The best part of it is its location. It's near Piazza Navona and in 20 minutes by foot we got to the Vatican. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Service was utterly superb. The staff were just perfect, hospitable and very accommodating. This is small and hiden B&B. There were just 2 guest rooms on our floor. Completely private, entirely yours. Each room is fully furnished with antique furniture and modern amenities. We even had plenty of international channels in our room TV. The service was personalized and did I say superb? Great location

Great little B&B in the best location in Rome. Very friendly staff, who helped with special requests for breakfast
and train or tour bookings. Rooms are lovely, beautifully decorated and the place was quiet. Breakfast is in the large
living room and is pretty rich. Palazzo del Duca is romantic and antique. We stayed here 2 nights and wished it was more.
