“Grayline/Appian Line Tours - 3 day tour to Sorrento”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

We booked our three day tour to Sorrento through Grayline.com. Their agent in Rome, Appian Line was supposed to pick us up but they did not turn up. No call, no email whatsoever. We tried calling them but all we got was a recording in Italian. Later we found out that the company had gone belly up. What a shame that Grayline did not inform us.

“worst trip ever”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

waste of money and time. from the time we were picked up (5 people one car arrvies) this should of been a sign. got stcuk waiting on the side of the road near termini station while they called for another car to pick us up. started tour with an arguing bus driver and local guide who had no idea we understood italian. it was all down hill from they. 3 hrs bus tour with a broken toilet on board. Rushed every where we stopped at. the only positive news i have is that i heard that this company has gone bust in the last week. at least no other people will be getting ripped off like many others have. shocking company Appian line tours!

“Music and Dinner in Rome”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

No Music, no hotel pick-up and terrible dinner was the conclusion after having this
trip. Stay away from this Company and be aware that City Discovery is promoting and
using Appian as subcontractor. Terrible, terrible, terible

“Worst value for money”
Reviewed 22 May 2013 via mobile

We booked a tour with this company and found the tour guide was from Austria and we could not understand much of what he was saying. When we told him he didn't care. He said he had been taking tour groups for 37 years. He was clearly bored with his job and very uninteresting.
The lunch which we paid €30 for was disgraceful. No one told us what was being offered. A small bowl of pasta was literally dumped in front of us. No bread was offered to our table. The main course was the thinnest slice of steamed pork I have ever seen with a small amount of sliced iceberg lettuce. Dessert was a pink sweet thing we didn't recognise maybe a type of mousse .They did give a bottle of house wine and a bolted of water per table. The second guide was much better but he walked us off our feet over the colosseum Some older people struggled to keep up. They should have warned us about the amount of steps and level of exertion involved.
The dinner was almost as bad as the lunch. Entrée was a reasonable serve of lasagna the main was a small piece of pork with a piece of ham and some over cooked potatoes and a highly salted salad dessert was a tinny piece of old tiramisu. All drinks were extra.
Don't ever take the deals including the meals. Also the deal claimed they would pick us up and drop us back to our hotel but they said ours was not on their list so bad luck. The. Staff in the office were rude and uninterested in our. Situation
