“Could not have asked for anything better”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

We recently stayed at the Moses hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We couldn't have been happier with our choice, it was outstanding and we'll definitely stay there again. The week before our holiday the hotel contacted us by email to ask what time we would be arriving, they provided details of how to get from the station and asked if we had any other questions or requests. That was a good start and showed that cared about their customers. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Termini station and is very easy to find. It is built into the back of the beautiful Moses fountain hence it's name and is on a street lined with orange trees. Access is via a thick wooden door in a plain wall and it felt as if we were walking into someones private property. The owner Andrea was there to welcome us. There are three flights of stone steps to negotiate before reaching the accommodation and no escalator so it isn't suitable for people with limited mobility. The outside area is rustic but that just adds to the appeal and looks Roman. The room itself was excellent. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. There was a flat screen TV, a nespresso machine, a safe, electrical adapters and a hairdryer and iron. An even bigger surprise was the mini bar was complimentary and restocked every day with soft drinks, snacks, beer and water. The bathroom was superb; large and luxurious with a brilliant shower, large bath and two washbasins side by side as well as good quality towels and complimentary toiletries. Andrea came to the room and explained that breakfast was included in the price and was served between 8am - 10am. We could have it served either on the terrace or in our room. It was a marvellous breakfast and far too much for us to eat; pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice. Andrea also provided us with a map and told us about how to get to various sites. The hotel is situated in an ideal location for getting around Rome. It is five minutes from the metro station in Repubblica square and about the same to the metro stain on Berberini square which has lots of bars and restaurants. We had made the decision to walk as much as possible and as a rough guide it took us about 25 mins to walk to the Colisseum, 10-12 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The Moses Hotel is small; 6 rooms only and no staff present after 6pm. It had the feeling of a town house rather than a hotel and that suited us just fine, there was no noise from other guests and no people milling around; it was very private. The views weren't great looking over other buildings and there was some traffic noise in the morning but that didn't concern us at all. In my opinion the service, the high quality of the rooms and the location make it an ideal base for exploring Rome. We will back for sure.

Just returned from an overnight stay in the Swanky Cardinal suite at the Moses Fountain hotel close to Repubblica metro stop in Rome.

The only negative I have in my experience was the fact I had to rush off before breakfast and didn't turn up until 10pm so I didn't get the chance to enjoy the luxury of the room but I sure tried!

The decoration is beautiful and plush with all mod-cons including nespresso machine, mini bar, flat screen TV but the best feature was the huge bathroom with sunken power shower that sat a full 12 foot above your head, all tiled perfectly, actually looking like a Roman Spa. The location was excellent for me as I had business in the Repubblica area which is a short walk to Termini station and within walking distance of the Forum and Trevi.

I walked past breakfast as I was leaving that was destined for another guest, it was huge, brought to the room and packed with fresh fruits and breads.

The service at the hotel was perfect, its a small hotel so they don't have staff on thru the night, the owner called and left instructions for me to pick up the room key which was simple and without problems.

If you're looking for something authentic, special, boutique and in central Rome I can recommend the Moses Fountain 100%. I work in travel and had never heard of the hotel, I think there are less than 10 rooms, but its a perfect find and I'd much rather stay here at half the price than the 5* Exedra across the road.

Room Tip: Book Direct and ask I imagine.

This was my first trip to Rome and I chose the Moses Fountain based on the trip advisor reviews. The townhouse is in an excellent location, providing easy access via walking to all major sights. Metro is only a short walk away. Room wonderful (size and decore), clean, excellent facilities (free mini bar, tea and coffee). Breakfast was outstanding and brought direct to our room. Staff were really helpful and we received a greeting email before we travelled. Perfect place to stay in the most wonderful city I have ever been too. We will defininately go back and I would highly recommend the Moses Fountain to all of our family and friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in the standard double room green room featuring a sloped wooden ceiling, which is located...

We returned from the Moses fountain hotel yesterday after a 3 day city break to Rome, and we thought the hotel was absolutely fantastic! The walk from the train station was around 15 minutes, but this is much quicker than getting a taxi with the Rome traffic. The location of the hotel is a maximum 20 min walk from most of the main attractions. The hotel itself is built into a spectacular fountain. Yes, there are a few flights of stairs (3 flights) to to the hotel but this adds to the unique setting of the hotel, and the staff could not have been more helpful assisting us with our luggage. The rooms were excellent. Very spacious, and a bath big enough to have swim in! Everything was spotlessly clean, there was a free mini bar that was stocked daily, an espresso machine, flat screen tv, gorgeous toiletries in the bathroom. I have stayed in 5* hotels that were not made up to the level of quality at the Moses fountain. Breakfast was delightful, and they give you the choice of eating this in your room of outside on the terrace. It consists of bread, croissants, fresh fruit, muesli, yoghurt, toast...far too much for the two of us to eat! On the day of checkout out flight was not until late evening, the hotel allowed us to keep our cases I the rooms so we could go out into the city, and they just started the cleaning around them, all this for no extra charge. The staff cannot be praised highly enough, they are friendly, helpful, they cannot do enough for you. If I am ever to return to Rome, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else but the Moses Fountain Hotel.

The room and location were amazing. It was a really cute hotel, which really was more like a townhouse in the city, rather than a true "hotel". The hotel was centrally located and the rooms were very clean and the bathroom was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable. My only note to you is that do not stay here if you have any mobility issues. There are no elevators, and even if you stay in the first floor apartment (2nd floor in US), you will have to take a set of stairs to get to it. I stayed in a third floor room, and it was A LOT of stairs to travel up and down with my luggage, especially with my bad knee. Even the staff is short of breath coming up those stairs, and they're used to it. There are also only 2 people working at the hotel, and they are not always on site, so it truly is like you are staying in someone's home. If that's OK with you, then the Moses is a great hotel. You just aren't going to get pampered or get the concierge treatment, or have a gift store, or a spa, or amenities like that. It's like staying at a friend's house in the city while they've gone away. But the room is clean, and nice. Just be prepared to do the stairs, and a LOT of them. The location can't be beat, through, near the embassies, and not too far from Termini or the Trevi or the hop on/hop off bus tours. The free mini bar was nice, including Peroni beer. Interestingly, there was an ironing board, but no iron, and no one around to ask for an iron, so if you need one - ask when you check in. They were great about letting us leave our luggage during the day while we toured the city, which was really appreciated!

Room Tip: Ask for the apartment if you want a lower floor. The third floor rooms have good bathtubs.

This was our first trip to Rome and we stayed two nights at the Moses Fountain. We picked it following the trip advisor reviews and not knowing Rome at all. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and shown to our room where everything was explained to us, including some very helpful advice for our journey the following day.

The rooms are appointed to an extremely high level indeed and although not large, are excellent quality. There is plenty of storage and the bathrooms are both immaculately clean and to a very high standard. The hotel was easy to find and access in and out is through a key card system. There is a free mini bar in the room and free wifi throughout. I detest paying for wifi access at larger hotels and this is a welcome touch.

Breakfast was delivered to our room and was a fabulous selection of pastries, fruit, cereal and tea/coffee.

The location is not perfect if you are a tourist but it is situated ideally in the business district and is just a short walk from the theatre and the main train station.

Overall an excellent stay and highly recommended.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was great, really spacious and well looked after and the staff welcoming. The location is brilliant for proximity to Termini and the sights and sounds. Don't stay here if you can't handle traffic noise (we can). Do if you want to stay somewhere unique: it's located behind a magnificent fountain. We'd stay here again.
