We recently stayed at the Moses hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We couldn't have been happier with our choice, it was outstanding and we'll definitely stay there again. The week before our holiday the hotel contacted us by email to ask what time we would be arriving, they provided details of how to get from the station and asked if we had any other questions or requests. That was a good start and showed that cared about their customers. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Termini station and is very easy to find. It is built into the back of the beautiful Moses fountain hence it's name and is on a street lined with orange trees. Access is via a thick wooden door in a plain wall and it felt as if we were walking into someones private property. The owner Andrea was there to welcome us. There are three flights of stone steps to negotiate before reaching the accommodation and no escalator so it isn't suitable for people with limited mobility. The outside area is rustic but that just adds to the appeal and looks Roman. The room itself was excellent. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. There was a flat screen TV, a nespresso machine, a safe, electrical adapters and a hairdryer and iron. An even bigger surprise was the mini bar was complimentary and restocked every day with soft drinks, snacks, beer and water. The bathroom was superb; large and luxurious with a brilliant shower, large bath and two washbasins side by side as well as good quality towels and complimentary toiletries. Andrea came to the room and explained that breakfast was included in the price and was served between 8am - 10am. We could have it served either on the terrace or in our room. It was a marvellous breakfast and far too much for us to eat; pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice. Andrea also provided us with a map and told us about how to get to various sites. The hotel is situated in an ideal location for getting around Rome. It is five minutes from the metro station in Repubblica square and about the same to the metro stain on Berberini square which has lots of bars and restaurants. We had made the decision to walk as much as possible and as a rough guide it took us about 25 mins to walk to the Colisseum, 10-12 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The Moses Hotel is small; 6 rooms only and no staff present after 6pm. It had the feeling of a town house rather than a hotel and that suited us just fine, there was no noise from other guests and no people milling around; it was very private. The views weren't great looking over other buildings and there was some traffic noise in the morning but that didn't concern us at all. In my opinion the service, the high quality of the rooms and the location make it an ideal base for exploring Rome. We will back for sure.
