“Fabulous Feast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

We visited this restaurant with friends from Italy and were pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful and choices endless. More dishes kept arriving at our table to try. This was the best food we had during our three weeks in Italy. Price was reasonable too considering the amount and type of food served. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

“A most enjoyable experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013

On the advice of our hosts at Aurelia Vatican Apartments we went for a wonderful lunch at the local La Piemontese Restaurant. We were warmly greeted and given menus that were in Italian and English, however, the set menu at 30 Euros was the recommendation and what a feast it turned out to be. There were 14 anti-pasto dishes that were seafood, the baby mussels were a highlight. Then followed gnocchi with clams and other shell fish. In our opinion the dish of the day was next, the creamed prawn risotto. Salad preceded a main course choice of fish or meat. Deprived of red meat we really appreciated the large steak. Dessert was ricotta torte followed by a huge platter of fresh fruit on ice. Two bottles of quality dry white wine was included.
The restaurant is large and was crowded with locals. Highly recommended.

“Authentic experience. Value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

On a recommendation fro our wonderful tour guide Andrea we caught a train to this restaurant not far from the Vatican and were rewarded for our effort. We visited 2 nights in a row due to the quality of our first experience and our second visit was even better than the first.
My friend and I were not overly hungry so we had an antipasto each while others ordered pasta and wood fired pizza. Almost immediately food began to arrive at the table and lots of it. We checked with the waiter that they hadn't misunderstood us as this was enough food for 6 people and we ordered for only 2. Sure enough this was what came in the 10 Euro antipasto for 2. Whitebait, octopus, fried fresh fish fillets, white anchovy, home cured salmon, a large plate of mussels tender and tasty, prosciutto, turkey, calamari salad, pizza bread, I hope I mentioned it all. The pasta and pizza were also great and the drinks very affordable.
Night 2 we went with their suggestion at E30 per head and to our surprise this included our drinks, and plenty of them. The food was plentiful, the service fun and friendly everything was fresh and hot and our holiday was enhanced by a true Roman experience. Viva Roma!!!!!

“Wow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2013

The first night we ignored the waiter suggestion of entree and had great pizza. All around us had great sample food coming back. As this place is a little out of way and close to where we were staying we came back the second night. The dinning room is huge and packed. We had the sampler entree and it was fabulous. Oysters, clams, ham, fried fish, and it went on. It was superb. It is out of the way but it had true local, big families there. The owner was great with our kids as well. If in Rome get here for dinner.

“You won't leave hungry! Good quality and great service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2013

Getting information about the fixed price meal was a challenge, but once you say yes, the plates start coming...about 13 different appetizers of oysters, langoustine, salmon, calamari, mozzarella, sausage, ham, etc. this is followed by pasta and rice, then your main course, salad, 6-7 fresh fruits, tiramisu, unlimited white wine, water, lemoncello, coffee or tea. All for €35 each person. The food was well prepared and good quality. Your main course choice is a grilled beef steak or a small plate of several grilled fish. Most of the appetizers were of the fish and seafood variety, so you should like fish if you come here. Although one of our group did not like fish and they still had plenty to eat. It appears they have a brick oven for pizza too. Most of the patrons were not tourists which speaks for the restaurant. I would recommend this place on all levels, but the experience itself was worth it. Be prepared to eat!!
