Lovely Kitchen

Review of Ciak Hostel
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Apr 2016
4 friends and I stayed in the dorm room option and we absolutely loved this hostel. Less than a 15 minute walk from the bus/train station and also within walking distance of all the major sites in Rome. Reception was very accommodating of us paying separately even though we originally booked together and gave us great tips. A supermarket is just around the corner and the kitchen in Ciak is great so we cooked dinner one night and it was great fun!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 days in July. Even though it was ridiculously hot (40°C) there was a fan and AC. The room was not in the main building. We had a cozy little roof top terrace. An en suite room. Close by to shops and the city centre. Staff were pleasant. Only downfall is the neighbourhood gets rough at night time... Would recommend and stay here again!

I stayed at this hostel a few months ago, in a private room located in a separate building. The room was underground and it was very damp, not very clean and quite old, there was quite a bad smell of old and mouldy things. Breakfast was very very poor and a bit depressing. It was do-it-yourself style but just with a very few things to eat. not worth it!!

The hostel is close to the central bus/rail station. It's a place to stay in for transit, which means one or two nights. I think it might not be nice staying in that place for longer. It's too small and the people are not that much friendly. Anyway, Rome is the worse city for accommodation that I've been in all my life. Everything is so expensive and the quality can be issued easily.

Its a great hostel, it's small but in my experience people are nice, in the reception people explain everything. Clean, cool. You should stay here. Free breakfasts, Internet, computers, maps, near to a metro station, 3 minutes walking and there's too much restaurants near

This hostel was great value for money with an excellent location and nice dorms. My favourite things about it was the cleanliness and the location, within walking distance from the main attractions if you don't mind walking 20-30 minutes. The only downs for me were the wifi - which would not work in my room - and the lack of a plug where I could charge my phone near the top bunk. The breakfast some days was better than others, they take a while to replenish things.

Room tip: Don't go for top bunks, as they're no plugs near them. Wifi wasn't good at all in the rooms so try to stay as close to the door as possible.
