We reserved Country&City’s apartment from Via di Monte Brianzo 58 (first floor) just a week before our quick trip as Rome was filling up quite fast of tourists looking for an hotel in our price range. We are usually trying to book something with a little lower price tag (this one about 136EUR/night but in this city in this location it really is not bad) but as we only spent three nights in the city we didn’t want to look too far. Country & City is not actually a hotel but they have several apartments around the city. Their office is right next door at 59 and is normally open from 14:30 to 18:30 or something like that. Be sure to ask for an early check in if you are arriving in the morning.
Our apartment consisted of a living room, a small kitchen, bathroom and the bedroom. Everything seemed to be just renovated or restyled as they were updating pictures as we arrived. The rooms are wonderfully high and seem to have original ceilings. The kitchen is really small but adequate as we didn’t prepare any food. The bed was somehow not very ideal for sleeping. Being an apartment there won’t be a cleaner knocking at your door in the morning and you have to take out your own trash in the end. They say there is a trash sorting on Lungovetere (street running along the Tiber) but we had difficulties finding it.
The apartment is located in the historic renaissance centre of Rome and is in easy walking distance from pretty much anywhere. Termini, Vatican, Trastevere, Colosseum, nothing is really that far and Spanish steps and the historic centre are just outside of the front door at the other end of the same street (different name though). There are plenty of restaurants in the area and our special recommendation goes to Trattoria Lilli at Via di Tor di Nona 23, just a couple of blocks east from the apartment.
The Wi-Fi worked fine at least in the bedroom and the only possible “complain” about the apartment is that as the buses run the street just outside the apartment the whole house seems to be vibrating at times. Nothing that really bothered us but might be important information for some travellers.
