“Wine, beer and pastries to accompany the world passing by”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Visiting this place twice as it intersects a couple of the major tourist sites like Spanish Steps and the Trevi

We had a sandwich and a beer on our first trip which I didnt think was massively expensive and on our second visit we tried a couple of the little pastries that littered the bakery inside.

There were a lot of locals going into the cafe for lunch whilst the tourists sat outside watching everyone coming and going. Plesant way to kill an hour in the hot midday sun - provided you have a drink - once its gone the bill is presented quickly!

Reviewed 30 November 2013

We were on our way the the Vatican for a tour and stopped here for lunch. Everything we had was average at best and overpriced.

“Late Lunch in Rome”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

Sat and had a late lunch here. Be warned, if you only want a pannini or sandwich on a Wednesday, you have to have an early lunch because of the activity at St Peter's Square with the pope doing his outdoor blessings. We went about 3 pm and there was no bread left, so had a large pizza to share and a salad. Both of which were very tasty.

“avoid this restaurant if possible. tourist trap”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

To start off, service was bad. Have you ever been to a restaurant and the waiter starts interrogatting why are you sitting at this table and not outside?

Well, you will get this type of service in this hotel. A couple of other customers were shooed off to other tables as soon as they had sat down. Come on, if you would like to prioritise customers, i would suggest doing at the doorstep when we enter, and not after customers have settled down.

Food wasnt great either. Just refer to the other reviews in this thread.

I will strongly recommend against dining in this hotel.

“So disappointing”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

Stuck on a table where I had to climb over the chair to get in. Husband ordered a meat dish - receive three thin limp slices of meat no veg and waiter didn't explain or query this. Insalata caprese - 1 basil leaf only for quite a big plate. Spaghetti carbonara was basically spaghetti omelette. We had to ask for the bill 3 times. Other people sat down and immediately left - wish we had copied them. Low point of an otherwise excellent trip.
