We came here for our 1st anniversary whilst in Rome. We'd be in Sicily and Rome for 2 weeks by the end of our trip and were thoroughly over the pizza, pasta and escalopes that Itailians seem to survive on and Ad Hoc was a welcome treat. The wait between our starter and main was a little slow but we werent in a rush so didnt notice. The food was really tasty and just what we wanted. Do expect small portions though - this isnt like the plethora of Trattorias in Rome - that way you wont be dissapointed and will simply enjoy the food for what it is.

We walked past this accidentally and recognised it from research on TA. We popped in not expecting to get a table, but we did. We didn't want a huge meal, the waitress seemed a little perturrbed at our 'small' order initially but later on this ceased to be evident. The pasta dishes were delicious. We recommend.

Food...even the bread... was way too salty...and I am a salt person. my husband and I couldn't even finish. the restaunt is too hot. the waitress didn't bring the check for 30 minutes after being asked three times! I am really surprised this is number one.

The atmosphere and service at Ad Hoc was excellent. The complimentary prosecco at the beginning of the meal was nice. My daughter eats gluten free and was served an excellent pasta with salmon and cheese sauce. They also were able to provide her gluten free bread. It's always nice when her meal is problem free. I had the carbonara pasta which was very good however my husband's steak was a little overdone. Overall, however we enjoyed our evening - in part due to the very attentive service.
