Hotel very well located. 10 min from the Trevi fountain and from the Coliseum.
Rooms very quiet and clean.
DVD device in the room with a choice of DVD available for free.
This hotel is perfect for a long week-end. We stayed 2 nights and it is perfectly situated with a bus stop at 2 min and a street with restaurants at 2 min too.

We stayed at this hotel from 13 November until 20 November 2013. Mr Massimo (the owner) is very kind but you only see him when you check in as the hotel doesn't have a manned reception desk. We stayed in room 202 and the 4 (new) rooms on this floor are part of the Quality Inn Rome (as the Five Oscars Inn is actually located on the 1st floor of the building). Nevertheless, the room was very decent, good bed, very well isolated from street noise, electronic safe, electric kettle and a small fridge. The location of the hotel is really splendid: most of the places of interest are at walking distance from the hotel.
Major minus point: the breakfast (served opposite the hotel) is only one croissant, one cup of coffee and one glass of orangeade. When I told Mr Massimo about the poor breakfast his reaction was that Italians prefer a large dinner instead of a large breakfast.....
For the rest we enjoyed our trip and the hotel room very much.

Small minus points: plastic disposable cups and beakers, airconditioning

We stayed for 2 nights in The 5 Oscars Inn in Rome, and really had a great time, starting already before we left for Rome, with a mail from Massimo for confirmation and offering to arrange airport transfer. The Inn itself is located very centrally in Rome, with all main attractions within a short walk. The rooms were small, but in good conditions (well maintained and clean)
The Landlord Massimo is first class, and he makes sure that you experience the Inn really as a sort of home in Rome. We can only recommend the Five Oscars Inn, if you want to stay centrally in Rome in good and informal surrounding. Breakfast is in a cafe across the street, but good. Only downside was that the cafe is closed Sundays, so the Sunday breakfast was arranged in the room.

This is the perfect point for a long weekend in Rome. Massimo the owner could not have been more helpful or friendly, he made sure that he spent 20 minutes with us when we checked in asking about what we wanted to see and marking routes and locations of all the sites. His recommendations for the best food, pizza, gellato and coffee were faultless. The room was freshly decorated and absolutly spotless abet a little small but what do you want for a weekend. The bathroom was beautiful , the bed was big and comfy and the safe was big enough to fit laptops etc. which is a fault in older hotels. The rest of the building has proper old Rome charm with the 100 year old lift and grand entrance hall. Breakfast in the cafe opposite is adiquate but when in Rome.

We spent two nights in Rome at this property. It is an easy walk from Termini train station, maybe 15 minutes. It is also easy walk to all the major attractions of Rome except for the Vatican but easy to get to with the bus stop around the corner. We had a nice welcoming from Massimo and he explained the area well with a map and gave us some helpful hints of the area. Our room was very clean but unusually small. In fact it was so small in the particular room we booked that we did not even have a spot for our suitcase. The shower was disappointing. It started out scalding and I almost burned myself and then the rest was a very cold shower. Also, the TV did not work, but Massimo did try to get it fixed and offered us movies to watch on a DVD player. Our room was very clean, the wifi worked great, the location is good. If you are looking for a good price this is the place to stay. If you plan on spending time in your room you may want to see if he has a bigger room then one we stayed in. Also, I read the review about breakfast across the street and just want to add that they were extremely friendly and the chocolate croissant is to die for :)

Room Tip: Ask for a large size room.

Massimo was a big help ever step of the way during our stay in Rome in everything from helping us figure out how to get around, to recommending restaurants, to ordering us a cab to get to the Termini station, which was only a mile away. The Inn was conveniently located, which allowed us to walk everywhere we went during our three-day stay. Rome is a lovely walking city, as long as you stay in the middle of all the attractions. The Five Oscars Inn is in what I would consider the most convenient spot in the city. The breakfast across the street each morning was lovely and the people there were extremely friendly.

The room was very nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Via Milano, where the inn is located, has a lot of traffic, but the windows in the inn are very good at blocking the street noise. I also liked that we were able to open the windows at night, as the evenings in Rome in September are heavenly. The building was very secure and the in-room safe was large and perfect to make us feel that our passports and cash were also secure. The maid service was excellent. The only thing that was not perfect was the sporadic hot water for the shower and the Wifi that seemed to go off and on during our first day (it worked most of the time after that first day), but I guess those kinds of things are not unusual for Rome and visitors should learn a bit of flexibility. If they do, they should have a splendid trip!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor, where we stayed (we were in room 202) are newly renovated and very nice. Ou...

On arrival Massimo welcomed us with a huge smile and quickly came down to assist us with our bags. He took the time and care to explain about the workings of the Inn, the breakfast across the street (which was perfect) and gave us a map which he pointed out all the attractions. He explained how far, which streets to walk, which buses to catch and recommend places to shop and eat.

The location was fabulous! No more than a 15 minute walk in any direction and we found ourselves at the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the amazing Altare della Patria. It was only a 10 minute bus ride on the number 64 to the Vatican City, the stop was only 100 metres away. There are so many restaurants and cafes close by that it was so hard to choose one.

We will definitely be staying here next time we're in Rome and highly recommend it to everyone.
