We were looking for somewhere central to stay with little Miss Boomeranghead for a half term trip to Rome and stumbled across Torre Colonna. Very glad we did - superb location, within walking distance of all major sights and bus stop for the Vatican is literally just round the corner. Torre itself is an amazing building - funky juxtaposition of very old with very modern. Lovely big bed, amazing shower in immaculate bathroom, wifi plus pc in room, and splendid breakfasts. View from the rooftop is sublime, staff couldn't have been more helpful. Only teeny downside was that I do like the window open at night and the noise from the road was quite intrusive with cobbles and those rather insistent Italian sirens). But noise problem entirely solved with big window closed (virtually soundproof secondary glazing - v impressive) and little one away from road open. And there's air con anyway, so hurrah all round!

We only stayed one night at the Torre Colonna (all we could afford at the time!) but for us it was definitely worth the price tag. With only five rooms and in such a historic building it is a truly unique place to stay.

The bedroom itself is perfect for a memorable, romantic break. The room is a nice size (not giant) with an extra room for hanging clothes and suitcases and a large bathroom. The painted wooden ceiling is beautiful and the cast iron four-poster bed had me lusting after one of my own. The 13th century walls are so thick you can't hear any noise from outside.

The hotel is very central and we walked to all the main sights from there as well as some lovely local bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was delicious and the all-round service was smart and friendly.

Room Tip: We stayed in the blue room on the 1st floor. Not much of a view but that's what the roof terrace...

We spent four nights at the Torre Colonna in late November and it was a fabulous stay! We enthusiastically agree with all of the five-star reviews here. We stayed in the Yellow Room, on the second floor. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, with a jacuzzi tub/shower (plenty of hot water, great water pressure); the room had a small walk-in closet with shelves for your stuff, and a desk with computer and tv, also wifi for your own computer. The room was quiet and dark with the windows and shutters closed, no street noise at all. The breakfasts were fantastic—Alvin squeezed the orange juice while we watched, there were fresh breads, cheeses, salume, cakes, cereals, espresso, teas—whatever you could want. Alvin and Igor were most accommodating and helpful, and Sarah can answer all your questions about Rome. She arranged a great car service to pick us up at the airport and deliver us to the hotel. In November it was a little chilly on the roof but the views were great… Location is perfect to walk to all the sights (we did take a bus to the Vatican, just to save our feet for the museum), and if you walk in the other direction from the forum you are in the Monti neighborhood, great for restaurants. There’s also a lovely and reasonably priced wine shop/restaurant an easy walk, just across from Trajan’s Column, Enoteca Provincia Romana. We loved everything about the Torre Colonna!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Yellow Room, on the second floor. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, with...

Great location near to Trevi, Via Imperiali, Trajan markets and more.
Great design and attention to detail make this place a delight to stay in.
Loved the rooftop hot tub and views, tasty breakfast and good sized rooms (for Rome).
I will be back.

Room Tip: I liked my yellow room on 2, quiet with a nice bathroom.

We were celebrating our anniversary during our last days in Rome in early October after spending three weeks mainly in Tuscany. Not the easiest place to find, small side street, no signs but only a small decal of Trip Advisor in the window. What a great surprise to find warm welcoming people whose main objective is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. There are only 5 rooms, a small reading corner, a breakfast room and a wonderful terrace where you can see most of the city. This B&B/auberge is ideally located, a five to ten minute walk to the Trevi fountain and the Coloseum. Alvin and Igor will go out of their way to help you as they did for us when I suffered a minor eye injury during our stay.
we highly recommend the Torre Colona for a romantic stay in Rome!

We definitely agree with the recent reviews of Torre Colonna in Rome. From the booking process to the entire 4 night stay, everything was spot on. The rooms are a good size, with a separate room for clothes (if, like us, you tend to have everything everywhere, this is fantastic for keeping stuff out of sight!). The hotel is perfectly situated to walk pretty much everywhere you want to and close to Piazza Venezia so you have an easy to find land mark to find your way home. The hotel provides a welcome pack with a booklet and a list of restaurants they have personally checked out. Alvin and Igor are both wonderful hosts (Sarah is also great although as noted in other reviews we mostly saw the boys). Most important, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I believe the rooms are all set up fairly similarly so the only thing I can offer is that higher roo...

We have just returned home from a 4 night stay in Residenza Torre Colonna hotel. We have had an amazing time. The hotel was perfectly situated for all the sites. The staff, Alvin and Igor worked their socks off making our stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble. Sarah was also helpful but we mainly saw the lads. We stayed on the third floor and the bed was really comfortable. The bed was made up for us each day, bath cleaned and the room tidied. Well done Sarah and her team.
