“Our Stay at Gli Scipioni, B&B, Via Degli Scipioni, 53 - Roma, Italy”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This was our second visit to the B&B and we were absolutely delighted to be there once again. Antonella D'Ambrosio who runs the establishment, could not have been more accommodating and helpful during our 5 night stay. Most important points of note for travellers.
A. Location: We flew in from Malaga, Spain, took the Fast Train from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini, connected to the Metro B line to Ottaviano, which is less than 5 minutes walk to the B&B. Total journey time from Airport to B&B less than one hour.
B. We were met, welcomed and accommodated within minutes from arrival. The accommodation is like "home from home", spotlessly clean and furnished with everything you need as in a 5* hotel. The 24hour kitchen facility caters for all tastes. Unimpeded freedom to come and go as you pleased.
C. As others have already stated, its proximity to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican, 5 minutes walk and walking access to majority of Rome's historic sights, is just brilliant.
D. Great restaurants and shopping, all within close walking distance. The choice is incredible.
Whenever we visit Rome in the future we will always stay at Gli Scipioni. Needless to say our family and friends will follow in our footsteps.

Bed & Breakfast Gli Scipioni has it all, including a superb, central location, about three blocks from the Vatican and about one and one-half blocks from the Ottaviano S. Pietro Metro station. We easily (and cheaply) travelled by train from the cruise port city of Civitavecchia to Stazione Centrale Roma Termini in Rome, where we transferred to the Metro on Line A, northbound. It worked like a charm! The B&B is situated on a charming Italian street near lots of restaurants and great shopping, including Via Cola di Rienzo. Antonella, who manages the B&B, was truly a delight and suggested a walking route that took us in a huge circle from Via Cola di Rienzo to Piazza Del Popolo, Piazza Spagna, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and up Via Ottaviano back to the B&B. What a wonderful afternoon and thank you Antonella for your outstanding assistance, hospitality and friendliness! You certainly made our stay in Rome and at the B&B a memorable one. It's a three-room B&B (we had the red room) on the third floor of an apartment building, with all of the amenities of a very clean and modern bathroom and bedroom area and all rooms faced the bustling street below. The B&B is very well maintained and Antonella is always available to help out wherever she can and readily offered to arrange an early-morning taxi ride to the airport for our return flight to Canada. The self-serve breakfast works well in that it has all the makings and foods for a wonderful and nutritious breakfast or brunch. Our stay had only one major drawback--we weren't able to stay for more than two nights! Ciao, David Becker

This wonderful B&B provides all the home comforts you will ever need right in the centre of Rome. Antonella thinks of everything a guest might want better than any hotel concierge might provide. I stayed here in April and it was the best experience in a Roman hotel or b&b I have ever had. Truly unique experience in Rome. I will be back

The location of this quaint little B & B is a perfect home base when visiting Rome! Three minute walk to the metro gets you to the historic sites in a very quick time! A five minute walk gets you directly to Saint Peter's Square, The Basilica, The Vatican Museums and of course the Sistine Chapel!
Antonella's hospitality was genuine from my first inquiry online to her greetings upon arrival! Added a nice touch with a bottle of wine in your room at check-in. She also offered great restaurant recommendations within a few minutes walk of the apartment, as well as tour suggestions. Breakfast and snacks are on a "serve yourself basis" and are conveniently available at any time of the day.

Room Tip: All rooms well equipped for a comfy nights sleep! Complete Bathrooms in each room. Orange room a lit...

Following a tip from a colleague, I chose B&B gli scipione. In addition, looked at the website and I was immediately excited it's a great B&B in the Centre of Rome. Less than a 10-minute walk from the Vatican City. The hostess Antonella is very helpful. The rooms are very clean, I can recommend it to everyone.

I stayed for business few days in this excellent B&B thanks to its location right in the heart of the city, the room was colorful, nothing missing and the owner welcome you there to provide all the support you need to go around the city. Despite the limited free time I had the opportunity to visit few wonderful city historical sites near by the apartment...I will be back with the family at the first opportunity.

Room Tip: I can't say for the other rooms, mine was perfect.

I chose this B&B because of the great reviews, and the reviewers were right. It was very easy to find and an easy 5 min walk to the basilica and museum entrances. My mom and I met Antonells who gave us great tips and recommendations. She was in touch with us every day during our three night stay to make sure we were ok. The well stocked kitchen had everything we needed, even ice cream. The place was very clean and well maintained also. I felt I made a good choice staying here. The streets around the neighborhood are bustling because of the close proximity to the vatican, but at night, it is very quiet. The restaurant next door was recommended by Antonella and we had a very pleasant meal there. I really can't think of anything bad to say about this place. Next time I am in Rome, I will definitely stay here again.
