“Recommended by a colleague and was pleasantly surprised.”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Our first trip to Rome and that in Nov! The family owned hotel was recommended to my wife by her colleague who'd already been twice there before! Our first point of contact was the concierge, very friendly, pleasant & helpful. At a glance it was very noticeable the interior decor - many beautiful old pieces of antique furniture especially the lounge with the open fire place & large comfortable sofa! Same for the pleasant bedroom & bathroom, clean & tidy ,enough cupboard ( again antique - solid wood ) space for two , also had a safe and fridge and not to forget free wlan. The morning breakfast buffet was plentiful and the tasty coffee freshly brewed. Evenings in the bar finger food was available - a different hot tasty dish was also prepared for the guests who choose to have a few drinks from the 'french dresser' turned into a bar - was well admired by many guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay and would certainly recommend it to others. PS. While we were there it was my birthday, to my surprise there was a unexpected ice bucket with a nice drop of Prosseco + snacks placed by the owner on the dressing table - what a nice touch. 'till the next time, best regards Damian & Martina

Dear Damian and Martina,
We are very happy to know that you had a good holiday in Rome at the Relais 6.
We know with joy that you have liked our antique furnishings, of which we are very proud. In fact, many of them come from our family.
Our breakfast is all based on fresh food and good quality because we think when you are away from home is very important to find even that kind of hospitality. If one day you decide to come back to Relais 6 we suggest you book through our official website: it will be easy found some good special offers.
Sincerely we hope with all heart to see you again in our hotel.
We send you our best regards

My family stayed in their apartment with the two teenage girls sharing the large sofa bed which is in a separate room to the lovely master bedroom. There was a kitchenette available at 35 Euros a day but we didn't bother with that and felt it was a little expensive. All in all the apartment was quiet, clean, spacious and very comfortable.
Our breakfast in the morning was very good and set us up for the morning. In the evening we would often enjoy a glass of red wine or prosecco with complimentary appetisers in their lovely lounge area. I noticed they had a very nice outside terrace area too.
The staff were exceedingly helpful and very friendly, they booked us a tour and restaurant.
The only downside is the hotel is a good bus journey to the centre of Rome. Although the bus stop is very nearby and the buses run regularly they can get very crowded, especially during rush hour (you literally are crammed like sardines) so I would not recommend this hotel for elderly, disabled or young children. This also meant that we tended to stay out for most of the day. This made our city break a little more tiring than relaxing but we still had a wonderful time and would recommend Relais 6 to couples and mature families.

Dear Connie9999,
Thank you so much for publishing this great review.
Greatly appreciate your thought although the Relais 6 is frequented by young couples on holiday and many families with children who find ideal accommodation also in apartments. All this you can safely check from reviews posted on our official website, we recommend always go read.

If you are looking for a place to stay slightly outside the city center, look no further than Relais 6. The hotel is sparkling clean and the staff is fantastic. Our family of four (19 and 20 yr. old kids) spent 4 nights there at the end of October and could not have been happier. Breakfast spread was huge and delicious, and appetizers, enough to make a dinner out of, were great. We took a taxi to/from sites in Rome and average cost was about 12 Euro. For us, this was more convenient, faster and not much more costly than bus/metro. We stayed in room 112 (apartment): nice size, corner room with plenty of light during the day. At night, with the blinds closed, it was whisper quiet and dark. We never slept better! For a couple of meals we ate at neighborhood restaurants and were the only non-Italians there. They were two of our best overall experiences in Italy. Relais 6 puts you in a real Italian neighborhood (a great neighborhood by the way), with good access to all the sites; and, it does so with class, style, and professionalism.

Room Tip: Room 112 is an apartment, suitable for a family of 4. Nice size bathroom with large walk-in closet...

Dear DrKringla,
Thank you very much for choosing Relais 6 as a location for your trip to Rome.
We are happy you didn't have found difficult to arrive to the tourist areas of the historic centre of Rome. Our small hotel, which isn't located in the historical centre, is located in a residential district very close to the city centre.
We really hope to be able to review a day in Rome. If you decide to come to Rome, please check on our website if there are special offers.
We are waiting for you!
An affectionate greeting

On the way from the FCO airport, I took time to find the way (the taxi driver said the hotel in those area - Viale Gorizia is not the centre of Rome so the price is not a fixed price of Euro 48. So I stopped at Termini and took a bus - it seems this is a prerequisite to stay here) but all in all, I was amazingly satisfied with the stay yet it was 2 nights. The atmosphere, assisted by the surrounding area - was very relaxing and felt like being in Rome as residence. It is east-north of Rome (if I was not mistaken) and near to Corso Trieste. The subway stations - one is very near with several minutes, and the other (Bologna) is about 15 minutes. As said. the local bus stop is located very near so despite the direction from the Centre. The room, especially the bath room is very clean / new. There are lounge, providing snacks with wide variety of selection. The overall reputation thus far providing for this hotel was very correct, I would say.

Room Tip: there are apartment, junior / senior... I stayed at 2nd floor, just in front of the elevator.

Dear Toshio2,
our hotel is just off the ancient walls of the historic centre of Rome. In fact the taxi price varies if you get within the ancient walls or just outside it.
On our official website location is well marked off with a map of the area where is located the Relais 6. The hotel is located in a residential neighbourhood of Rome very lush and full of ancient history. Near the Relais 6 you can easily reach the Basilica of Sant'Agnese, the Catacombs and the Mausoleum of Santa Costanza and the beautiful Villa Torlonia.
If you'd like to return to the Realis 6, please go to our website to view the photo gallery of the hotel and all the services that we offer to spend a pleasant stay. You can also take advantage of discounted rates from seasonal offers.
Thank you so much for having published the great review and we hope to see again to Relais 6.

Loved this hotel! A little outside of Rome but easily accessible through metro and bus system. Every employee we encountered were beyond helpful; truly great staff and did a great job of making us feel so welcomed! Daily breakfast feast for a king and evening appetizers that were delicious. If you're looking for A+ service and value; this hotel is a must!

Dear Krisj 40,
How often do we say to our guests the Relais 6 is not located in the historic centre of Rome but in a residential neighborhood. In fact, as you could see, the old town is easily reached by Metro within 15 min. The metro is a 3 min. walk of the hotel.
Thanks for the review highlighted the professionalism of our staff, who can make our guests feel at home.
For your friends who want to come to Rome, we suggest you book using our website www.relais6.com because there sometimes you can find rates on offer and all information that may be useful.
Thank you so much for having published an excellent review. But thank you even more for choosing Relais 6 for your stay.

We chose this hotel having read some of the earlier reviews on tripadvisor.
We were looking for a hotel as a base for a short sight-seeing break in Rome, but didn't want to be too close to the city centre.
This hotel was just perfect. It's in the suburbs, but only a five minute walk from a metro station. It's really easy to get into central Rome and they sell metro day passes at the hotel desk.
Our room was clean and had all the facilities we needed during our stay.
There isn't any tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, but in the evening when the bar is open, they are happy to serve hot drinks. The prices were reasonable too.
The breakfast was first-class, consisting of fruit, cereals, pastries and all the usual things you would find on a breakfast buffet, with unlimited tea and coffee.
Highly recommended. Would stay there again.

Dear rhodes 169,
Thanks for publishing your review and beautiful photos of Relais 6.
Our small hotel isn't located in the historical centre of the town but in a residential neighborhood steeped in ancient history and just a few minutes from the Colosseum (about 15 min. by Metro).
In the area where is located the hotel, within walking distance, you can visit the catacombs of Priscilla, the Basilica of Sant'Agnese, Mausoleo di Santa Costanza and many beautiful villas such as Villa Torlonia.
Thanks to appreciate our rooms and cleaning service. Sorry that you have not found what you need to prepare tea or coffee in the room because we cannot keep electrical equipment or irons for security reasons. In fact, the Relais 6 rooms are all furnished with antiques. But the bar service is always at your disposal for any request 24 hr.
Thank you so much for having published a nice review.
We sincerely hope to see you again in the future
Warm greetings

The staff were very helpful indeed even down to loaning us a converter for our iPhones as we had forgotten our European converter. The room was small but very clean. We loved the shower room and particularly liked the little seat in the shower.

A particularly nice touch was the free drinks in the minibar. 2 waters and 2 soft drinks, very unusual for a hotel not to want to squeeze every last penny out of you and these served to be very useful.

Breakfast was simple and tasty. Typical continental fare. I enjoyed the croissants and fruit my husband liked the breads, eggs and meats.

5 minutes from the nearest tube station which was very easy to use and tickets are available from reception so this was hassle free. Tubes trains run until 11.30 so take cRE with that one as we were caught out one evening. The taxi charge was €20 from the centre of the city to the hotel.

One extra little treasure we found was a little bar 2 mins walk from the metro (taking the road that goes straight rather than the left road back to the hotel) this served world beers for €2 upwards and was frequented by many local young people each night, a really cheap little bar with a good atmosphere only 3-4 mins walk form the hotel.

Dear Rachel,
thanks for having appreciated the services and efficiency of the staff at the Relais 6. We always try to give the best to make pleasant the stay of our guests.
For the next few times, please check room prices directly on the website of the Relais 6 because often you can find better prices. Moreover, on the official picture gallery website is cute to see the type of all our rooms from standard, which are more little, to a superior or to the suites that have a larger measure. Although all are very comfortable.
Hope to see you again at the Relais 6.
Best regards
