We found this B&B through TripAdvisor and the reviews of all the other guests made us decide to book 2 rooms here. My friends and I were not disappointed!!
Adele made us feel so welcome – it felt as if we had come to see a long lost friend. Uendj (Wendy) the dog immediately greeted us by bringing her stuffed animal toy. She was always there to great us when we came home. It did feel like coming home, so much more welcoming than the average hotel where you are just a number.
On our first day, we arrived quite early in the morning and the rooms were not completely ready yet, which didn’t bother us. Adele immediately gave us coffee and lots of information about where to go to, how to get there by bus or tram and marked everything on a map of Rome that she gave us.
The B&B is situated in a residential area with beautiful big and old houses. The B&B is located in a villa like building, where (via a separate entrance) more apartments are located. You can hear the sounds of busy city live during the night - garbage is being collected somewhere after midnight ;-) – but just close the windows and all noises are being shut out.
Rooms are very lovely - well decorated, clean and comfortable. So were the bathrooms. We found it valuable that we had a bathroom in the room instead of having to share a bathroom with other guests which you sometimes hear of.
Breakfast was lovely – lots of cereals, fruit, bread, juice etc. More than I normally can choose from at home! Coffee and tea at your disposal all day.
Just across the street is a small café (Bistrot 54) that serves coffee and wine for just a few euros.
We made this our “stop” at the end of the afternoon before going back to the B&B and have a glass of wine there.
From the moment we booked the rooms (due to circumstances we had to postpone a previously planned trip by one year) till the moment we finally arrived, Adele was always there to answer our questions via email. There was never a question that she couldn’t help us with. She’s a treasure…!
Adele also recommended a few restaurants in the area, Mangiafuoco (good! See my review) and Streatart (take away pizza) and also here she was right .
Her recommendation for a private guide for the Vatican Museums and the Saint Peter Basilica was well worth the money too.
If you come to Rome this is definitely the B&B to consider – you will not regret it!
Bus or tram takes you downtown within approx. 30 minutes for only € 1,50 per trip.
Although we didn’t throw a coin in the Trevi fountain we will definitely come back to Rome and Adele’s B&B again!!
