“A little Roman Gem”
Reviewed 30 January 2012

I am lucky enough to have sampled quite a few hotels in Rome so I am glad to say that the little Hotel Enrica punches well above its weight for quality and value for money.

Location: Location is close enough to Termini station to catch all Trains, Metro, Buses etc to access the city and the Airport Transfers. Despite being so well located for transport, it is not noisy, and you don't get the unsavoury characters which hang around other parts of Termini. Meaning this place is pretty much perfectly located for its price range.

Rooms: The rooms are simple, tasteful, very clean and practical. Beds are very comfortable and nice and warm in the winter, though I did notice brand new Air-conditioning units in all the rooms. A HUGE bonus for a Roman summer, especially when so many of Rome's hotels do so badly at this. Guests should note that the en suite bathrooms are 'wet rooms' but this doesn't stop them being some of the best functioning bathrooms I've ever used in Rome. Though the bed was warm, the rooms are a little cold. This is simply a characteristic of Roman buildings from this date, as well as the extremely high ceilings and lovely huge windows. I personally think a jumper is worth the well sized and bright room.

Service and Character: I always put these two together for Rome because when you visit Italy, it's all about charm. Service is brilliant. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and certainly up for a laugh. Great for directions and tips, you get to stay with a true Roman family here. Many of Rome's hotels are no longer filled with Italians. This doesn't bother me, but it does take away just a little of that Roman magic. So I say hotel Enrica gets full marks on both accounts.

Breakfast: a typical Italian drinks machine dispenses 50cent drinks 24 hours a day in the lobby and is great for a quick pick me up. Discounts are offered for local restaurants and breakfast is provided by a very Roman cafe just around the corner. A fresh croissant and drink of your choice. I loved this, because it is how the Italians take their breakfast rather than hopping up to poorly stocked buffet.

Value: Very good value for money, I would highly recommend this hotel for the budget concious or just those wanting a real taste of Roman hospitality.

I stayed here one night. The place is super clean, father and daughter are very accomodating, and the room inviting. It's very close to Termini. You have to go around the corner for breakfast. I liked this aspect of things. I got a half off special: 40 euros. Only negative: a bit of traffic noise

Hotel Enrice is a good choice if you want to stay in the centre of Rome for a couple of days. It is close to public transport and it's a short walk to the Termini train station and several sights. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is in bar Jolly, just around the corner. It's real Italian breakfast: a sweet roll, coffee and juice. We liked it!
The room is comfortable. Nice beds, very clean, little fridge and fresh towels every day. Bathroom was simple but clean. We were not really happy with the shower, that is not covered by a curtain or cabin. When you take a shower, everything else in the bathroom gets wet. But that's the only "negative" comment. We would defenitely book this hotel again when we visit Rome!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 10. This room had two beds and is not close to the reception area, wich makes it t...

This is a well run family hotel.Very friendly and helpful.Rooms basic but very clean and have bathroom en suite.Refrigerator in room and towels changed daily.Have a super drinks machine in the foyer and an option of breakfast delivered to the room. This is not necessary as the Bar Jolly is just around the corner and the welcome is pleasant and the breakfast basic but good.A typical italian breakfast of fruit juice pasties or breads and tea or coffee.Christina and her father are very good for tourist information. The hotel has pleasant view over the gardens and is convenient for the Termini, bus station and metro.Local restaurants are very good and offer excellent choice. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to family and friends as it represents good value for money

We booked Hotel Enrica for our first 4 days in Roma based on Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The location is perfect, easy to catch a bus, subway and for our day trips the busses could pickup and drop off right out front. A lovely garden between the hotel and the street and a very good capuccino, juice & croissant breakfast around the corner. The room was big and the bed comfortable. The street is very busy but the shutters blocked out the sounds. Americans, the bathroom is European, 'nuff said. If I wanted American accomodations I would have stayed in the states. It is clean and plenty of hot water available. Best of all are the charming hosts, Christina and her father Sante. We felt like welcomed guests and had wonderful conversations with Christina. We were disappointed that Hotel Enrica was not available for when we came back to Rome after our trips to Venice & Florence. I will stay at Hotel Enrica next time I am in Rome.
