I booked this hotel for one night at the end of our Italy vacation, since we were arriving from Florence by train and needed to get to Fiumicino airport in the morning. The convenient location was the best part of staying here.
We never met the very friendly folks that supposedly run the place, but instead, were instructed to check in at the Palma Hotel in the same complex, but several buildings over. There was no way to contact the desk staff without leaving our building and walking over to the other building to ask for any little thing (like when we couldn't figure out how to make the toilet flush). The "reception desk" at the Hotel Enrica was deserted and the phone did not work. There was an emergency cord in the room - no idea who would show up if you pulled it.
The place is "quaint" but very run down. The furniture is old and worn out and the mirrors were all spotty. I honestly felt like I was staying with the Munsters/Adams family...
Sheets and towels were clean. Bathroom (once we figured out how to work the toilet) was very basic and small but clean. The shower was just a shower head coming out of the wall onto the floor - basically on top of the toilet and sink. We decided to forego showers.
The room door was about as flimsy as they come and wouldn't take more than a bobby pin to pick the lock, or a swift kick to open it. We did not feel OK leaving valuables in there. We also had to carry around a handful of keys (4) and a large keychain, for all the various locks (front gate, building C, door for Hotel Enrica, and room key).
I had requested a quiet room and we were given one facing a busy street, which was noisy all night long.
The breakfast was a voucher for a restaurant several blocks away. As we had to get an early start it was not worth our while to drag our suitcases around looking for a cup of coffee and bun, so we didn't bother.
This place is overpriced for what you get. We stayed in a nice apartment in a better part of Rome earlier on in our vacation for almost the same price as this hotel - no comparison!
