This was our second trip to Rome, and our third tour with Easitalytours. All three of our tours have been amazing.

For this trip, we picked a private tour, "Ancient Rome: Colosseum, Roman Forums, and Capitol Hill ". All I can say is "wow"! A few years ago, we tried touring the Colosseum on our own and of course we missed so many fascinating details. Our guide, Valentina, was a fountain of information. Instead of just talking "at" us, she managed to draw us in and evoke a real feel for the history in this area.

She also pointed out some of the local vegetation, including a cork-oak tree (something we had never seen).

At the very end of our tour (good timing!), a massive rainstorm blew in, and everyone scrambled for cover. Before she left, she led us through the flooded streets to the cover of a deli. (We must have looked like ducklings following her to safety.) Here, we had one of the best sandwiches we had ever eaten.

Pros: Humorous, engaging, informative and accommodating guide; choose your own pace; see the most popular sites with limited time
Cons: Not for those who desire extra time to take in-depth tours and strolls at each site. This may be too fast paced for some, although the guide will customize and accommodate your itinerary.

A group of seven of us had scheduled a tour of the Vatican necropolis before meeting our guide Marco. After our Vatican tour, Marco had arranged to pick us up at the exit and proceeded to guide us through Rome to see the major sites of interest. Along the way, Marco would fill us in with details and at times, take us off the beaten path to see some of the more unique, lesser-known, but equally interesting sites. At each step, Marco was accommodating to our needs showed us the most direct way to get to the things, even if it meant parking in an alley to shield us from the crowds! His knowledge of navigating Rome--the crowds and its traffic--was indispensable and worth the expense of a private tour. This allowed us to maximize what we saw, in a manner in which we felt safe and comfortable--and all in time to catch our train back to Florence (he even dropped us off at the station!). This tour is highly recommended to small groups who just want to get in and get out of Rome or for those who want a quick run down of the territory before going back to each site and learning about them in more depth. You will not be disappointed by this tour and the friendliness of their staff. We truly enjoyed spending our day with Marco and valued the time and effort he spent showing us his city--the new, the old, and the ancient.

We just got back from a European Cruise and the highlight (by far) of our trip was a touring day we spent with Easitalytours in Rome.

We had 2 guides take care of us. Marco was the driver who picked us up at the ship, spent most of the day showing us Rome, and dropped us back off at the end of the day. Mossimo was the Vatican history and art expert that took us through Vatican City (the Sistine Chapel, St. Peters Bascilica, and the museums).

This was better than any other tour I have ever done because we were treated like family. Marco didn't seem like a tour guide, but like a cousin who picked us up at the port, drove us around Rome for the day, and showed us both the tourist sites and his favorite places in his home town. His stories and explanations brought everything to life for my wife and I and for the kids (Ages 17, 13, and 8). I wouldn't have believed we could fit that much in one day - and was amazed he was able to get us to so many places. We not only enjoyed the touring and historical information, but also enjoyed getting to know Marco and "Marco's Rome."

Mossimo was also fantastic. I can't imagine trying to tackle the Vatican without him. His depth of knowledge was amazing. He did a wonderful job of engaging the whole family, including the kids, and had us smiling and laughing the whole way. He is also a wizard at "surfing" through the crowds at the Vatican.

As I said, this was a highlight of our trip for the whole family - we have already had plenty of laughs and smiles, reminiscing and telling stories of our day in Rome. Both guides were charming and wonderful with my kids which I truly appreciated. We actually wished we had more time to spend with Marco and Mossimo. I can't say enough good things about them and the magical day they created for us.

I decided to book my tours with Easitaly after comparing several tour groups. What a fantastic experience!!! We did the Vatican tour with Stefania, she was great! She was very knowledgeable about the history of the Vatican, spoke great English and pace was good. The next day we booked a full day tour of the city. From the beginning we knew it would be a great day. Antonello picked us up at our hotel, he was super friendly and ready with a car seat for my toddler, the car was super comfortable for all of us (6 total). Antonello is an excellent guide, really knows the city and how to navigate and avoid peak traffic hours. Our entire day was planned for us and was paced just right. Would highly recommend Easitaly to all my friends and family, such a wonderful experience!!!

We enjoyed both the Vatican and full day Rome tours. My conclusion is that Easitalytours is the only way to do it and would highly recommend these tours. On the Rome tour, Max found the balance that perfectly suited our needs while managing the challenges of our over-active five year old. Max did an excellent job. Massimo offered great insights and knowledge on the Vatican and we accomplished so much in the tour - this simply could not have been replicated by any other tour. My only disappointment - Easitalytours is not operating at the other stops on our European vacation!
