“Good accommodation for flying out of Rome thre following day”
Reviewed 1 July 2012

Located an easy half hour's drive to Rome Airport without having to worry about battling the traffic out of central Rome. Ideal if dropping rental car at airport. B & B is reasonable for price with breakfast and wi-fi included. Free street parking available outside.

My husband and I stayed at Notti Romane before leaving Italy. Great location before returning our rental car at the airport, which is only about 15-20 minutes away. Nice and quiet location. Perfect place to stay if you want to see Ostia Antica - just as good as
Pompei without all the tourists. And the beautiful beach is only about 10 minutes down the road. The owner speaks very good English, and is very helpful with directions etc.

The only cons I can think of were -
directions to the B&B talked about 'semephores', so of course we were looking for flags.
it means traffic lights
we stayed in the little cottage with the kitchen which was great for keeping food in the
frig etc. But, although there were lots of pots and pans, range, toaster and
microwave, there was no cutlery or plates. (good thing we always have 2
plastic plates and plastic cutlery in our packs)

Spouse and I stayed in the guest studio at the back of the house. We had privacy and the independence that come from separate living quarters. Daniela, our hostess, is a delightful personality and helpful with maps and information. As far as the address goes, I had it written down and passed it to our taxi driver at Fuimicino airport (a taxi from the queue not one of those who offer their service as you are arriving), he put it into his GPS and off we went, no trouble at all except if you see a sign post saying Ostia Antica and he is going in the other direction don't attempt to correct him - I did and I was wrong so it added more mileage to the fare. Three minutes walk from Notti Romane on Via Cristoforo Colombo is a bustop that will take you to the train station about 4 kms away. From there you can walk along the Lido de Ostia (Rome's closest beach, nothing special about it in the eyes of Australians who are spoiled with gorgeous golden beaches but a place for dip at least), you take a train to Rome(a change of trains is necessary) or take a train to Ostia Antica Scavi (well worth a stroll through, as is the museum there, people do not realise that this gem is available so close to Rome and the Fiumicino airport.)

My husband and I stayed with Daniela for 3 days in October. We were so happy with the room, the breakfast and most of all, the HOSTESS! The room was beautiful, orange and bright with a nice big bathtub and everything you could ask for in a B&B room. We had asked to use a curling iron and a regular clothing iron and she was able to provide both and INSISTED on ironing my husbands shirt for him. We had so many questions to ask because it was our first time to Italy and she answered them all very nicely and genuinely never making us feel like we were a bother at all! She made phone calls for us and recommended dining establishments that exceeded our expectations. She is a very busy woman and I admire her in so many ways. You could absolutely not be disappointed in a thing by staying here. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for true Italian hospitality. Thank you so much Daniela for making our trip a memorable one!

Make sure your destination address is written down to show your shuttle or taxi driver so there is no confusion, even if they think they understand where they are to take you.

Not only is the place overflowing with genuine hospitality and good vibes, but you'll never forget the Morelli's for their joyous generosity. If you've never been to Rome or if you're a vet they know the places, old and new to go.

As far as the structure is concerned - it's clean, comfortable, and above all has the right amount of light in the bathroom for the wife to make up, and for me to shave. Also good size mirrors. Nothing is skimpy or worn. The bath towels are strong and full and colorful. In fact the color schemes of the rooms are so enticing that it seems that the rooms were furnished by a designer. Our family of 5 had a superfine time and will return whenever we have the good fortune to visit Rome again.

We stayed here for 5 days and had a great time. We were welcomed very warm and friendly. The owners took the time to tell us everything about the surroundings and gave us tips for the best way to travel in the surroundings. The rooms are very clean and look very nice. There's also airconditioning available and the free WIFI worked excellent!

It's near the beach, it has 2 good restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed Rome and we even enjoyed our stay at Daniela and Luigi at Notti Romani. We recommend this B&B to everyone who wants to experience the beauty of Rome combined with the hospitally and rest at Notti Romani. THX again Daniela&Luigi
