“Our stay in Rome was great!”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

Even though some people complain about the size of the rooms, for me and my boyfriend was just perfect. We stayed in "Colosseum Room", with a nice medium size balcony where we could stay up late drinking wine and enjoying "dolce fare niente". I recommend this bed and breakfast for couples, for one or like us 5 days. Breakfast was better than some fancy hotels I stayed before and every morning you can eat it in bed! It's a little bit far from the centre but everyone that visits some place new likes to walk and have new experiences and you can easily go everywhere in Rome from one place to another by walk. In the end, we even got a free ride to the terminal where we had to catch our bus! Just great, enjoy it.

Room Tip: Colosseum Room!

We stayed three nights at Anfiteatro Castrense. It is two subway-stops from Termini, and the tram is close. The rooms are simple, but nice, and the bathrooms are almost brand new. The host brings you breakfast with coffee every morning. The rooms also have balconys. We really enjoyed our stay here and can recommend it!

The B&B at Viale Castrense is very well priced, very comfortable, very modern and very clean. In short, it is a perfect place to stay in Rome if your budget is limited. Although it is not located exactly at the historic center, it is very close to it. It is close to two famous churches, Santa Croce di Gerusalemme and San Giovanni di Laterano. From San Giovanni it is very close to the center by foot and also tram 3 takes you there quickly. Nearby is also the San Giovanni Metro station from you can go quickly to anywhere. Most importantly in this B&B is Emanuele, who is very sweet and very hospitable. If you are nice enough he will even take you to the Enoteca he works in, which is a real gem. In short, this B&B is not only a well situated pleasant place to stay, it is also a good opening to start exploring Rome.

Room Tip: There is one room with a big balcony. Ask for it if available.

Thank you for a great stay. Clean, modern rooms, hospitable host who speaks a little english, but tries hard. We liked the area where it is located & it is not that far on the bus to Rome Termini. The Italian Breakfast was way too sweet for us, but then we do not like the italian idea of Brekfast in any case.

Room Tip: Only three rooms, all are good, the corner one has the biggest balcony.

First of all i would love to thank Emanuele for great service and help! We stayed in Rome for 3 nights and lived in Coliseum room (there is a big balcony where you can have breakfast in the morning or cheese with wine in the evening). Conditions are more than perfect, everything is super clean. Moreover breakfast is included (Emanuele brought it every morning). There are lots of different stuff you can try and it doesn't look like a typical breakfast (1 cup of tea and 1 cake), it's just more than that.
As for location, it's pretty close to San Giovani subway station (about 10 minutes of walking). It will take about 10-15 minutes to get to the city centre by subway (considering the fact that everything in Rome is so ancient, i.e. you can get out at any station and you won't disappoint of any view of the city). There are 2-3 supermarkets close to the hotel where you can buy whatever you want (Emanuele showed us everything on map).

Once again, to say that the hotel and Emanuele are great is nothing to say, it's just amazing!

Emanuele, I wish you a good luck! I will definitely recommend you place to my friends and thanks one more time!

Cheers from Russia!!!

Room Tip: I would recommend to stay at Colosseo room with big balcony, but anyway you can book any room and en...

We stayed at the B&B for 4 nights and had an amazing time. In our 6 weeks of traveling through Europe, Emmanuel was our favorite host. The first night after we arrived, my gf and I went out to find a restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately we got caught in freak thunderstorm while we were walking around (it actually hailed in mid July) and so we ran back to the B&B thinking we could get food delivered. Emmanuel saw us as we walked in, completely drenched and miserable, and volunteered to help us order takeout (neither of us speak Italian). When he saw that most takeout restaurants didn't deliver on Sunday he actually decided that he would cook us dinner since it was our first night in Rome, and he made us the most delicious spaghetti ever! And this was only the first night! Everything else about the B&B was wonderful. It's clean and includes breakfast and is very centrally located to all the tourist sights in Rome, but far enough away from the city center that you're not swarmed by all the tourist traps. I'd recommend this space to anyone visiting Rome!

We stayed in this b&b for 4 nights. It is a very small b&b with just 3-4 rooms in an apartment. The rooms are very clean and are fully equipped. The The balcony was nice and spacious to have a breakfast outside. The breakfast is a joke, we only got a few packaged sweet croissants picked up from a supermarket and a cup of coffee. The owner Emanuele was very helpfull in all aspects. He waited for us as we reached late in the B&b on the arrival night, explained all the attractions in Rome, the walking routes etc.
