Check-in and check out was very easy, staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean. We got one of the rooms which has 2 singles making up a double, but thanks to a previous review on here I knew that they had toppers which could be fitted to stop the beds sliding apart and soften the firm mattress, the staff immediately did this when asked. The room was fairly small but was at the front and had a small balcony, which was needed as the temperature in the room in January exceeded 25 degrees! This is thanks to the heating being set to one temp throughout the hotel in winter, rendering the in room thermostat control useless, but we did manage to get them to reduce the overall temperature and they were happy to supply a fan for the room, the temperature is my only criticism, the location is superb and we walked pretty much everywhere or got on the sightseeing bus just a few minutes walk from the hotel, we also used the metro (underground) which is also just a few minutes around the corner. There is a heated undercover roof garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine bought from the onsite vending machines or from the local spar (on Via nationale - 10 mins walk, if that) where you can get wine from 2 euros a litre- happy days :)

Room Tip: I think we were in 412 which was the far end at the from, small, but is one of the few rooms with a...

Previus reviews have said it all really so I will keep this short.
Positives : extremely helpful and courteous staff, spotlessly clean hotel and rooms, good breakfast, good location, very good value for city centre hotel, great rooms with excellent bathroom/shower.
Negatives : if you like soft beds this isn't the place for you. Gym is tiny and should be described as a c.v room as weights are minimal. Gets very warm in room.

Overall though I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. A fantastic place.

After being in a couple of B&B's in other Italian cities, the iQ was a perfect spot for our visit to Rome. Having a clean, modern room with a shower you could turn around in was a welcome relief. The location was perfect. We could walk to Termini Train Station and the Republica subway stop was a couple of blocks away putting all of Rome at your fingertips. We particularly enjoyed the vending machine which sold a variety of goods including wine. We spent a couple of evenings on the roof-top terrace enjoying a glass of wine and planning our next day's adventure. Another great plus was coin op washer and dryer, although this was also a negative in that there was only one of each and competition for their use was stiff. That would be our only suggestion ... get a couple more washer and dryers. Otherwise the iQ Roma was perfect for us.

I really enjoyed my first trip to Rome & Italy. This hotel is really a perfect location for those who are flying into Fiumcino Airport, as you can get the train straight to Termini station and you are a ten minute walk to your hotel. So it really is ideal location. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, the facilities are modern and clean and staff are very helpful. Plus there are some nice places to eat nearby too.

The place is very convenient to Termani Train station downtown where all the open air tour buses hang I paid 120 euro's + transient tax per nite which was great but the rooms were small and stuffy.I wouldnt mind paying more but it didnt exist..This hotel is a great 1st time Europe tour....or "starter marrige budget minded american hotel"...Room service is a vending machine with wine and beer..And everyone in downtown Roma smokes ciggerettes....and the hotel is NOT 420 friendly..the 10 euro breakfast was "good" but the "state of the art" self serve cappaccino machines were NOT user friendly..it was a 3.5 at the most..Be sue to hit the Esperia trattoria on Via Firenza (it was so good I ate THERE twice in 6 days) and there wasnt a lame eatery within a mile ......

Room Tip: stay away from the 1st and 2nd floors ( as those rooms are the budget anyway)

Dear Sir,

We are sorry to hear that you did not find iQ’s concept to be your ideal way of travel. All our Hotel Services and Rooms are well described on our selling websites, where our Guests may find the best accommodation for their needs. Depending on their length of stay and reason of travel, Guests may choose among a range of rooms which differ in bed setting, width and price range. All rooms have security windows which open partially, while some rooms have a small balcony. iQ caters for both couples and families travelling together. We have various family rooms and also a small playground on the rooftop where children may enjoy their selves. Also, most room types may be found on all floors and not on a specific one as reported.

As per iQ’s concept, all rooms are catered with empty mini-fridges to use as it pleases the Guest. Most hotels charge a lot for minibar products; we leave it empty to be filled by whatever our Guests prefers, either from the vending machines or from any external market they choose. Wending machines not only provide snacks and drinks but also any item a Guest might have left home, from toothbrushes to sleepers or umbrellas. Breakfast as well is an added service only if Guests decide to have it. It offers a buffet with a variety of products, from classic freshly made eggs and bacon, to cooked vegetables and mushrooms; cold cuts and cheeses; pastries, yogurts, cereals and fruit with juices and hot beverages. These items are constantly topped up and a staff member is always available for any help needed.

Regarding smoking policies in Italy, it is prohibited to smoke in any public place indoors, such as restaurants or cinemas, but outdoors it is possible everywhere. Although it is not permitted to smoke in the rooms, as for many Hotels nowadays, iQ has available on each floor a sitting smoking area overlooking our inner courtyard. However, we have to agree with you that we are not “420 friendly”, as per Italian law which considers all drug use illegal.
