We had a one night layover in Rome after a cruise and wanted a centrally located hotel. IQ Roma fit the bill perfectly. 10 min walk from the main train station, 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and Trevi fountain.. The hotel is new and very contemporary in decor The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, the room was comfortable and the property has a nice gym. I'd definitely recommend it and would stay here again.

I have stayed in five different hotels in Rome and all were far superior to this one. Let me just start with the pros...walking distance from the main train station and clean. Ok that's it. Here come the cons...uncomfortable bed and room temp does not go below 20C. If you like warm rooms you will be ok. Very small room, bathrooms and showers. Literally had to squeeze between the bidet and door to get to the toilet. We heard most noises from the street and could not sleep. all other hotels we've stayed in were sound proof. There is no room service..just vending machines. You will pay for ANY additional conveniences. for example .50 for a plastic cup to put ice in. If you like staying at Motel 8 this may be your cup of tea. If you want an Italian experience, stay in a hotel like the Minerva or Hotel Lunetta. Also the walking distance to major sites was all uphill then down. Very strenuous compared to other hotels. Cabs are too easy to get to think the walking distance from the termini makes this hotel worthwhile.

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your views on our property.

It pains us to know that the only night you spent with us will be remembered as an uncomfortable one. Especially since we could have eased your discomfort with one of our mat-pads, tailor-made to fit our beds and make them softer, according to the guests’ preference. Our reception is open 24/7 and we welcome guests’ requests at any time of the day, so everyone should feel free to ask for anything they need, even if it is during night-time and they might fear they are bothering.

Regarding the room temperature, we find it odd that it didn’t go below the 20°C. Since you stayed with us the night of the 30th April, the summer air conditioning was already in place which means that it should get to a minimum of 18°C (if outside temperature is too high to justify it). Since the outside temperature in the past week was an average 24°C during the day, one would expect an inside temprature of 20°C to be quite pleasant. However, if in any moment you felt the room temperature was too hot to bear, again, you could have talked to our reception and they would have sent an engineer to check if there was any technical issue preventing the temperature in your room from going down. Since there was no records on the maintenance logs of your complain or of any other complains during the 30/04-01/05 period, we are unable to put forward any reasonable explanation to why you felt your room was too hot.

We were told by the Front-Desk that you had booked a Classic Double Room, which size is very well explained on our website and all other websites we work with. We would not want to induce guests into thinking that we’re anything other than what we really are, therefore we try to be clear in all steps of the booking process.

We would like to take the opportunity to make clear that all rooms are indeed soundproofed. Since you stayed in a room on the first floor, facing the normally quiet Via Napoli, we can only assume that since it was the day before a national holiday (1st May) there was probably more people than usual in the street, hanging out until later hours. This is usually not an issue but since you mentioned that you were feeling hot, you probably tried to sleep with your windows open, increasing the noise from the streets. Again, this is just us guessing and we are truly sorry that you were disturbed during your sleep.

Another piece of information, which we made sure to convey on our website, is the fact that we have vending machines for self-service, as well as self-service washing/ drying machines. Room service is not part of our philosophy, as is not making our guests pay for superflous services they were not likely to use.
We provide our guests with free Wi-Fi access and free gym and sauna. We give them all the essentials for a great stay and then we give them the possibility to add services which not everyone uses and wouldn’t be fair to have them included in the room price. Regarding the cups, we provide a 200 ml free plastic cup per room. If guests need extra cups, they can purchase a set of 2 from the vending machines, at the cost of 0.50 eur per set.

Being compared to four and five star luxury hotels, like the Grand Hotel De La Minerve or de Hotel Lunetta, doesn’t do much for ur, really. Starting with the price difference between us and these other hotels, is hard to find a comparision point. We are a young, dynamic and innovative hotel, with a completely new approach in the roman hotel scene.
We cannot expect every single guest to fall in love with our concept, however, it would give us great joy to know that those guests who choose to stay with us do so after finding information, or at least visiting our website, to see what we are about. Alternatively, the reviews from other guests on Trip Advisor might help you to make a decision based on other guests’ opinions. So we are quite surprised to see that, even though you read other guests’ reviews and certainly our replies, you were expecting to find something completely different than what we actually are.

Finally, Rome is well known for its Seven Hills, so one can expect to go up and down a few times. Surely, you can always take a cab but if you’re up to the challenge, you’ll surely find some hidden gems along the way… not only the most famous monuments.

My husband and I just returned from Rome and we stayed 3 nights at iQ. It was a very pleasant stay, great hotel with a great location - close to 2 metro stations and to sights (a comfortable 15 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps). The room was clean and had a refreshment vending machine located on alternate floors. Good gym and sauna facilities. Had avaiIable a washing machine and dryer (3 Euros for each use) and ironing facilities (FOC). Would recommend including the breakfast option into your booking as the selection was well worth it.

We stayed for 3 nights at this Hotel and we loved it.
The Hotel is a 10 min walk from the Termini station and very central to all sites. 20 min walk to the Colosseum, 20 min walk to the Trevi Fountain etc.
It was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and clean and both my partner and I were very surprised to find that we had a balcony overlooking the Opera Theatre - a really lovely surprise. We stayed in room 421, overlooking the street and at night there was no noise and the curtains in the room really are black-out curtains!
The roof-top terrace was a quiet retreat of an evening and a welcome place to sit and relax after a long day of site-seeing. The vending machines on the 5th floor are reasonably priced for drinks.
My partner visited the sauna while we were there and said it was very clean and a welcome treat.
The Hotel offers a breakfast buffet and it was well worth the 10 euro's. There was a wide choice of food available and it was all fresh.
The staff were very polite and helpful.
If we do get the chance to go back to Rome we will definitely stay here again.

Only spent one night here and it was good. Modern rooms, clean, comfortable bed, good lightning and very spacious bathroom. We left very early in the morning to look around the city before leaving for the airport and were allowed to leave our bags in the storage which was good. There's a couple of good restaurants around that are open til 1am (if you arrive late in the city).
Tried using the self-checkout computers but none of them worked though. The hotel is also very close to Termini station.

Room Tip: Maybe try and get a room with an outside view (I got one with a view to the hotel atrium inside)

Me and my wife were there, after selecting it via tripadvisor recommendations, and indeed it excelled.

This hotel is very comfortably located within walking distance of termini, the historical center and almost any major attraction in Rome. Metro is also very close.

The hotel is shiny clean, rooms are comfortable and large, free good wifi.
Staff are helpful and recommended some nice restaurants around. Breakfast is delicious and with wide verity.

The only thing I would improve is the bed hardness, too hard for my taste.

Otherwise it's unbeatable for comfort, location and value, no wonder it's rated so high!

Room Tip: We had a room that faces the center patio, was quite and had smoking veranda few meters away.
