Not a luxury hotel but everything it does it does very well. Staff are extremely helpful, rooms are good, clean with ample storage plus a v good bar/restaurant area on the top floor. Also an excellent central location directly opposite the opera house. This hotel absolutely met all my expectations and I would happily return and recommend to others.

The room was so nice, the breakfast was AMAZING, and the central location of the hotel allowed us to walk to all of the sites that we wanted to see. The hotel also had laundry, which we we thrilled to take advantage of while on our two-week trip. We found this hotel through a friend's recommendation, who also had a great experience.

If we didn’t have so many maintenance problems in our room, I would have agreed with other reviewers and given this place 5 stars. However, the first day the bathtub drain was broken, which required multiple calls to the front desk and delayed sleep at night, and it still wasn’t fixed when we left. The 2nd night we were woken up at night by the sound of water dripping from the ceiling into our living area. So again we had to call maintenance at night, waiting for them to come and temporarily put towels to stop the dripping. It was not comfortable sleeping, knowing that water could start dripping down from the ceiling on us or our things at any time. We lost sleep time over both these issues. Also, a very bad smell developed in the room the last night of our stay. We are not sure if the bad smell was due to plumbing problems or the water dripping from the ceiling, creating a musty smell from the carpet. So overall, we had a negative experience at this hotel.

Dear travelBFamiy,

We are extremely sorry for the maintenance problems you encountered and really saddened to read that otherwise you would have enjoyed your stay at the iQ Hotel Roma. As you can read from the vast majority of reviews, issues like what happened to you during your stay, are fortunately quite exceptional.

Regarding the leak from the ceiling, our technicians are investigating and working to solve it. What they think is that the extremely heavy rain and floods of the last week were the cause of water infiltration from the roof and terrace, that found its way down to the ceiling of your room.

We also have double checked again the bath tub drain and are pleased to say that it is now all in working order.

With our maintenance staff we daily try to solve with so much care and attention all the technical problems and issues that arise continuously in such a big hotel like ours. But we have to agree with you that we have failed in this occasion as our intervention wasn’t efficient or effective enough. For all our shortfalls, we deeply apologize to you.

As you mentioned that if it wasn’t for the maintenance problems you would have given a 5 star review, we truly hope you will give us another chance to make it up to you and provide a much more enjoyable experience.

Arrivederci,

Simona Scocco

We arrived before check in, but were still greeted with a warm welcome from Guissepe who offered us drinks, and showed us where all the monuments were/how best to get there. They looked after our bags while we went out, and on checking in later were given free prosecco/coffee vouchers for the bar.
The room was a good size and very well equipped with anything you may need. There were also signs to say if we had forgotten or needed anything to please let them know, even down to it saying if the bed wasn't to our comfort....which is most certainly was (one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in-including the pillows). The room was very clean, and all toiletries and free water/coffee were replaced daily.
There is a roof terrace with heaters for the colder months and the bar/restaurant has a relaxed feel (just let them know and they will cater for allergies and gluten free). There is also a sauna and hot tub located on the roof terrace, which is open in the main tourist months.

All staff were friendly and nothing was too much effort.

Before we had even had our last night at Iq hotel roma, both myself and my friend were planning family trips again to Rome, with a definite stay at iq again.

The hotel is very well located and a 15-20min walk from the trevi fountain or the colosseum, as well as brilliant transport to all areas of interest across the city. (Google maps tells you exactly where to get a bus/metro, how many stops to travel which made travelling around so easy).

When we checked out we left our bags and returned later to collect them and use the free "shower and go" facility which again is fully equipped and very clean/modern, before leaving for the airport.

I was actually quite sad to leave and would like to say thank you to all the staff, especially Guissepe who we had the most contact with during our stay....And to say we will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. One of the better hotel we stayed in all of Europe (I know not a fair comparison). You are anywhere from 15-30 minutes away from any major landmarks by walking and if that’s to far for you the major train station is near by and you can use the public transportation. Only downside is the food in the hotel which we only had a few times because of all the rain or us being tired but you are minutes away from some really good restaurants.
