Reviewed 30 November 2011

If you're a budget traveler, this is perfect. It's on a busy little street between the Campo and Largo Argentina, so you're in decent walking distance of the sites you want to see and you can easily take the bus there from the train station. You schedule a meeting with the hostess when you book your room. We arrived early and she was there. Our room was simple and lovely. It came with breakfast, which included wonderful coffee and juice but otherwise not much that was fresh. Considering the low price, I was happy with the entire situation. Our hostess was very helpful. But this is a B&B, so she was there in the morning and the rest of the time you're on your own. My tip: Have her show you how the outside locks work. They're tricky until you figure it out. U.S. tourists might find the outside of the building not to their liking. It's perfectly safe. You might have to walk around the guy playing a saxophone outside. When you get inside and take the lift to your room, you'll be happy he was there. The music was beautiful.

We received a very warm reception from Roxane who looked after us. Right in the center of "old" rome - even us oldies walked almost everywhere!
Our rooms were big, basic & very comfortable. The communal kitchen was fully equipped with coffee/tea/cakes/butter/milk etc. always on hand. Very good value for money, am recommending it to everyone who wants a reasonably priced holiday.

Room Tip: rooms 1 & 2 have air conditioning

The first time I stayed at that hotel, I was overwhelmed by the charm, the friendliness of the hosts and the fantastic location. I would have given it a "VERY GOOD". The last time, I was disappointed– we set an appointment, but the guy to receive us was an hour late (!), the breakfast (that used to include fresh bread, cereals, fruit etc.) was a selection of packed dry bread and sweets and we didn't feel very welcome. Maybe that was just bad luck, but I think I would look for another place to stay the next time I plan to go to Rome. Value for money is still good, I like the rooms which are not at all standard but make you feel good and remind you that you're in Italy and not at an airport hotel.

Perfect location, you get exactly what you see, the photos are very accurate! Everything is basically within walking distance, we didnt use transport once while we were there. The hotel was clean but basic, rooms were quite small.

Position is unbelievably good, but the building is really old and almost creepy and it was not cheap for a solo traveller(69 eur/night..).

Very good for a no-frills weekend stay for young people,
