“Unique location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2012

Location: This was a unique location, in the Jewish ghetto. An oasis (at least for someone who likes unique spots) in the touristy downtown of Rome. It was hard for the taxi to find, even though we knew it would be challenging from Trip Advisor. Then we had to pull our suitcases for a block. We used the same taxi from then on, so no more problems. The Jewish restaurants nearby were great, not outrageously expensive, and a couple of them were ranked in a great terroir restaurant book at the B & B. Not everyone in our party liked the nearby restaurants, as Jewish-Roman food isn't what they were expecting, but the "foodies" were happy. Jewish artichokes (only in artichoke season) are amazing. There was an excellent cheese & cured meat shop nearby.

Suite: It was good for travelling with family - my husband and I, his parents, aunt & uncle. There were no stairs, which was good for older people. Clean, pleasant rooms and bathroom. It had a very small central sitting area with two chairs, and we could fit in two more chairs brought from the bedrooms. Breakfast was serve-yourself, and was bare bones continental, but there was an espresso maker which made good coffee. No telephone. (And no pay phone nearby that we could find when we needed one (see below).)

General: The brothers gave good restaurant recommendations! And we could show up at the family store nearby and they would check things for us on the internet. One unpleasant thing, service-wise, happened the last day. There was no phone in the suite, and our taxi for the airport hadn't shown up. None of us had a cell phone. Simone had told us to buzz him with any questions, so we buzzed him at 10 AM on a Saturday, told him the problem, and he said he was "asleep", and "naked", and then hung up. I found a grocery store nearby that let me use their phone, and we got our taxi. This was the only time anything like this happened. Everyone was otherwise helpful and polite.

Favourite thing: The location and nearby restaurants.
Worst thing: No telephone, and one unhelpful interaction with host around that when we were trying to get to the airport.

Room Tip: If there are three couples, the Suite is the perfect place. The Suite is also better for older peop...

Arrived in Rome during the taxi union strikes and called ahead for advice to the hotel. The owners were very helpful with directions and offered to pick us up from the nearby Argentina Square if needed too. We didn't, as the place is an easy find from the square.
We checked in easily and Simone showed us the room and explained in great detail how things work, where we are, etc.
The room we got was very spacious, clean, modern, and included a safe, a small dining table, and a big mirror. Toilet was a good size with a big sink and clean new tiles.
Overall, the location was wonderful: short walk to the Vittorio and Piazza Venezia. Ducati cafe was nearby in the Argentina Square too, which is a cool cafe for drinks. This hotel is also in the Jewish Quarter, and a few restaurants are good around the corner. The area is quiet, including the rooms, and Simone made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Highly recommend this place for families and couples.

Certainly the best about this nice little B&B was the location. It is really close to major attractions and has bus stops (including those for the "tourist lines") nearby, but it is secluded enough to get a good night's sleep. It is however a little unusual as you might not see very much of Simone or Vittorio, the brothers who own it. They were extremely helpful the few times we did see them and were sure to leave their contacts so we could reach them. As we did have a few problems with our delayed luggage, we did need them and they were great.
The room was good: it was clean, the bed was good and they had a very nice cupboard. The bathroom was big and the jacuzzi great (they don't have it on all room, so make sure to ask for this suite if you want it). The only downside to our stay there was the breakfast. The room has a small table where several snacks are displayed. The minibar also has orange juice, butter and milk, and that's the breakfast. We had expected something home made, but it was a reasonable breakfast which ended saving us some time as we didn't need to spend time searching where to eat it elsewhere.
We would definetly stay there again. The location is unbeatable, the room was great and although it was a bit more on the pricey side, I really enjoyed our stay and would definetily recommend it.

We stayed in one of the four units in a building owned by little queen, called Kame Hall. Our large room overlooked the famous "turtle fountain" in a small square just outside of the former Jewish Ghetto. The young brothers who own and operate the building (who are currently working on at least one other building) could not have been nicer and more informative. They also own a dry goods shop just around the corner on Piazza Argentina.

The room is large and freshly decorated with original art works. The beds are very comfortable and the linens very high quality. The bath is also large and exceptionally clean with plenty of hot water. The rooms are on the second floor reached by a wide well lit staircase directly from the electric controlled front door which leads onto a narrow street with limited traffic.

The ante room to the apartments acts as an office, coffee and microwave room shared by the apartments. It contains two couches and is the best place to use the free wi-fi (i found that if i left my door open i could use the wi-fi from my room most of the time).

Many local sites are within an easy walking distance: ruins in argentina square, victor emmanuel memorial, pantheon and many others. The tram from Argentina square takes you to the heart of Trastevere (tram 8) in 5 minutes or so.

The ghetto is loaded with bars and restaurants. We ate all of our meals locally. There is a grocery shop (spar) about an 8 minute walk away.

We cannot think of a better place to stay in Rome. The facilities are excellent and well kept and the location could not be more central. We took a taxi to the Vatican, but buses are also easy to take from Argentina square.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay in Suite Little Queen. The room is clean , spacious and quiet despite being in quite a bustling area. We really appreciated the space after staying in a shoe box for 4 nights in Paris at a higher room rate!

The location of Little Queen is unbeatable, we are able to walk to all major sites. This is a really good way to work off the good Italian food which we consumed in indiscriminate amount!

Simone and Vittoria are very helpful. They assisted us with online booking for tickets to the Vatican and recommended really good restaurants which they personally patronised i.e no tourist traps.

Ohhh, did I also mention that the Suite Little Queen is right in front of the site where Julius Caesar was murdered ?

After four days visiting Venice and Florence, my wife and I arrived in Rome exhausted. We were warmly welcomed by Simone who showed us to our room. August is a low season in Rome (too hot) so Simone gave us the largest room. The room itself is spacious, quiet and cool and we regularly found ourselves returning mid-afternoon to shelter from the August heat. You can't help but notice the wonderful ceilings (in both rooms) which exemplify the care the two brothers have taken in looking after the Suite Little Queen.

The welcome we were given by Simone was warm and friendly. We were not just given a map, and left to get on with it, he took the time to highlight areas of interest including things often missed out on tourist maps: the places he would go to eat out, etc. The brothers were helpful throughout our stay but were never intrusive. Perfect hosts.

We walked everywhere in Rome (maddness in the August heat), a feat made possible due to the perfect location of the Suite Little Queen.

If (when) we return to Rome, this will be top of our list for places to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Suite Little Queen to friends and family.
