The owner Alessandro was very kind to us.
He gave us any information we need. The restaurant 'Flavio' near this Inn that he recommends is very good.
The location is very good near the metro station Piramide. There is a grocery store and supermarket just a few step away.
The room is kept clean everyday and breakfast at the terrace was very nice.
It's perfect B&B.

We were very pleased with our stay at Althea Inn. It is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk to the metro. There is a good sized grocery store just steps away, as well as a few places to eat. Because this is not a touristy neighborhood, we enjoyed shopping and eating with the local people. At the busy coffee shop a few doors over, we lined up for our capucino's, along with the local office workes, busy moms with children, mechanics in overalls etc. The Pizza place Allesandro suggested was the same.
Althea is on the 5th floor, with an elevator. If you like clean, you will like this place! Cleaned every day,and I mean cleaned... polished chrome and all.The snack on arrival was enjoyed on the private balcony. The room has an honesty fridge filled with beer , wine and soft drinks. ( Beer, jucie and cola's are 1 euro, wine 2 euro's ) At the end of a busy day, we would grab some local take out food, and enjoy it on the flower filled balcony with a cold drink.
Breakfast is fantastic. Fresh fruit salad, pastry, meats, cheese, juice, bread, coffee. All delivered to the room, right on time.
Althea is in a quiet neighborhood, with very little traffic and being 5 floors up it is quiet, One cool night we slept with the window and patio door open.
We are not sure when we are going to return to Rome., but when we do, without a doubt, we will stay at Althea.
Thank you Allesandro for making our visit to Rome such a memorable trip!

Three weeks ago we stayed for a few days at the Althea Inn in Rome. The hotel is at walking distance from the airport/train, the metro and the bus station. In an art déco building the lift brings us to the fifth floor where the hotel is located. We are friendly welcomed by its owner Alessandro. He maintains his property well, everything is neat , clean and nicely decorated.
So is the bedroom with a good bed and an impeccable clean bathroom. The big bonus plus is the terrace surrounded by green plants where you can have your breakfast and rest and enjoy.
Naturally we liked the fresh fruitsalad served with our breakfast. We would definitely recommend this to our colleagues and friends. Thank you Alessandro.

Room Tip: The terrace is the big bonus +++ to your room. Price/quality we are very happy with this choice and...

I can only describe Althea Inn as a 'Hidden Gem', like a Secret Garden behind a plain door. Very tastefully decorated and to add to this Alessandro's attention to detail is perfect. This has made our short stay in Roma all the more enjoyable. The surprise treats awaiting us when we returned each evening were added bonuses. I will not say more on this as I do not want to spoils yours. Thanks very much. Hassan & Anne

I recently visited Rome in March with my boyfriend. After choosing the inn based on trip advisor recommendations I can honestly say the experience exceeded my expectations. Alessandro is so attentive and accommodating. We stayed for 3 nights in Rome. The location is great, a short walk to the Pyramid metro and you can also walk into the city center from the hotel quite easily which I recommend you do at least once. Having a grocery store nearby was great as we often went back to the room around 4 or 5p to have a glass of wine and some snacks before heading to dinner. The room was immaculately clean! The food was perfect! Everything you want in a hearty breakfast before going for a 3 or 4 hr tour and Alessandro was so accommodating, he even brought us breakfast at 7am on Saturday so that we could make it to our 8am tour of the Vatican (which I also recommend). In addition we were able to check into our room around 11a as soon as we arrived to the inn. Alessandro was also kind enough to print our boarding passes for our return flight (Being from the US, I didn't know RyanAir was such a stickler about pre-printer your boarding passes!) I've been telling everyone about my experience and I honestly believe that the best way to see a city like Rome is to stay in a bed and breakfast with hosts who live in the city. It definitely adds a special touch to the romance of Rome. The price is also phenomenal. I highly recommend this inn and with all of the good reviews...stop reading, just book it! :)

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our 2 week trip to Spain and Italy and it was amazing. Alessandro was so responsive to all of my emails before even getting to Rome, and made getting to his B&B super easy.
We got to the room around 1pm and it was ready, thankfully. Alessandro gave us advice for a fun walk - definitely go on this walk. It's beautiful and the views of the city are breathtaking. He also made reservations for us that night at a fun spot just a block or two away.
The room was beautiful - clean, nice colors, hot water and great pressure in the shower, fantastic little terrace, and a mini fridge that was refreshed everyday and stocked with soda, water, wine, prosecco, juice. And, unlike many other American hotels - these drinks were free. It was great to have to come back to a nice cold bottle of water and not have to pay 3 Euro for it. The location of this B&B is great - 2 stops away from the tourist attractions and only a 5 minute walk to the train. It's also outside some old walls and the Pyramid which is fun just in itself.
Alessandro was a great host - our first night there we broke our room key - essentially locking us in our room. We called Alessandro and he came over in less than 5 minutes with a new key and to let us out. We were so embarrassed! The way he treated us and his kind and calm demeanor was so nice - it took a smidge of our embarrassment away (what idiots break their hotel room key!?!). His breakfasts are so delicious - they kept us full for hours (and oh how I miss the cappuccino) and were delivered at the same time every day. He called and got us reservations for the Borghese, gave us yet another fantastic recommendation for a restaurant just down the block that was very good, and set up a pick up for our ride back to the airport. Honestly, he want way above and beyond and made us feel like friends staying with him for a few days.
I cannot recommend the Althea Inn enough. Beautiful, comfortable and clean room, along with a fantastic host? Sign me up. And sign up all my friends and family that I will be recommending this B&B to! Next time we're in Rome (we did make a wish in the Trevi Fountain) we will be back and staying at the Althea Inn B&B! Thank you, Alessandro, for an amazing stay and all of your help and recommendations.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room.
