“Great stay in Rome!”

We stayed at this lovely studio for 4 nights from 20 to 24 May. The apartment is very clean and cozy, very conveniently located just 5 min walk from the Colosseum, and our very pleasant experience was enhanced even more by the help and warm hospitality of the owner Remo. Our big thank you to Remo! He supported us even before we arrived to Rome: he arranged for us a taxi that met us on arrival in the airport and safely and conveniently brought to the place (and Remo has a special price arrangement €40 which is cheaper than if you book it yourself).
Remo greeted us in the studio and showed everything. The apartment is not massive but sufficiently big for a couple or a couple with a small child. It has everything you need in terms of kitchen appliances and dishes, nicely done bathroom, dining table, wardrobe, comfortable bed, tv, free wi-fi, clean towels. It is located in a 17th century historical building and some of the charming historical features like the wooden beams on the ceiling, windows and an amazing wooden door still remain and add its charm to the cozy feel of the place. It is also very safe. Being an old building, the only possible downside for some may be noise from the street but it didn't really bother us as we were so overwhelmed and tired from sightseeings at the end of a day, that slept very well regardless.
The place is very conveniently located just 5 mins walk from the Colosseum and the Forum, 15 min walk from the Altare della Patria. We also walked to the Vatican which takes about 40 mins - 1 hr but it is a pleasant walk in Rome and on the way you can visit Trevi Fountan, piazza Navona and some other sites. Alternatively, a metro station is 5 mins away right by Colosseum with a link to Vatican and other parts of the city. We took it once and as a Tip: the ticket machine doesn't accept card payments below certain amount and if you don't have coins, there is a small shop with feezy drinks inside on the left and they also sell metro tickets.
When we asked, Remo also advised a nearby restaurant and a nice gelateria. We tried the restaurant straight away for lunch and were quite happy. Gelateria became our treat with large choice of flavours and we really enjoyed to pop in for a refreshing ice cream after long walks in Rome just before heading back to rest in our cozy apartment. There is also a small supermarket on the near by street which is very convenient if you want to have some food at home. We had all breakfasts in the flat and also used kitchen on couple occasions for dinner when after a day of the sightseeing and walking our feet were so tired that we had no energy left to go out to a restaurant and were very happy to eat at home!
The check out time is 10am but Remo is very helpful in letting to store the luggage till later in the day if needed. He again kindly arranged for us same taxi to get back to the airport (return is charged slightly cheaper €35).
To summarise we are very happy to have chosen Remo's apartment for our stay in Rome and had great experience! We would definitely stay again there on our next visit to Rome and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family! Thank you Remo!

P.S. Sightseeing tips:
A tip for visiting Colosseum and the Forum. From our experience the queue to Colosseum is getting very long in the morning (even the one for pre-booked tickets). There is another ticket office opposite Colosseum for tickets to the Forum and Palatine Hill - same ticket is valid for both sites for 2 days - and the queue there seemed smaller. We visited the Forum and the Hill first in the morning as the queue was much smaller and actually it was the right choice as the site is massive and it took us 3.5 hrs to see it all. So we appreciated to have a luxury to pop in to the flat for a snack and some rest before heading back to visit Colosseum in the late afternoon. Around 4pm the queue to the Colosseum gets much smaller (took us about 10 mins to enter) and the site is not that big (we walked it around in 1.5 hrs). Drinking water: there is a free dispenser of drinking water (just have an empty bottle) opposite Colosseum right by the entrance to the metro station.
If you plan to visit St. Peter's Basilica be prepared for a very long queue under the sun, I'd estimate 2 to 3 hrs. (unless you have health or physical conditions in which case the staff is very accommodating). It is free to visit. To see around inside took us 1.5 hrs. and we didn't go to the treasury museum and didn't climb to the dome.
It is possible to jump the queue for the Vatican museums with an online pre-booked ticket as we did. The visit took us 5 hrs. to go around without too much hurry at our own pace and also have a quick lunch. We saw the guided groups and they do go around at quite a speed! There is a tap in the courtyard to fill up a bottle with free drinking water.

“Safe, central location”
Reviewed 8 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Enjoyed our 5 day stay here. Close to Colosseum, ancient sites, grocery. Remo is careful to ensure guests have a great stay. Recommend this for a couple, although a third twin bed is available, making it possible for a small family to stay with no problem. Excellent safety in this building, which has a long history itself!

“Lovely studio, great location and well equipped”

We stayed 8 days in the studio and really enjoyed it. It is tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, has air con and a well equipped kitchen area with kettle and teapot as well as stove top coffee maker. The owner was very helpful and stayed in touch in case we needed anything.
The location is near lots of eating places and a 24hr Carrefour. It is easy to walk to the Colosseum and Fora and the nearby Metro station. There is also a bus route that is even nearer (same ticket as the Metro).
There is a lot to do and see in Rome so it was great to come back late, pick up food for breakfast next day and relax in such lovely accommodation.

“great location, touristy, but not too touristy.”
Reviewed 12 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We really enjoyed the studio and dealing with Remo and Roberts was easy and professional. Everything we needed was available in the studio; clean bed, washroom with shower, closet space, ironing board, dishwasher, dishes and cutlery. The studio is within an old monetary, so it has an artsy feel to it. Located near the Colosseum, and near the subway train station. It was easy to easy public transit or simply enjoy the walk through the ruins in the neighbourhood. Grocery and a few restaurant and cafés are near all walking distance. What could have improved is the noise from the street; although on weekdays it isn't so bad, on weekends you could hear the hustle of the street at night.

“Ten perfect days in cosy studio in the heart of Rome”

We stayed at the studio for ten days. It has a perfect location to explore Rome in the best way with public transport/near to some basic metro stations – Colosseo, Manzoni and Sen Giovanni/ and on foot. The owner of the property – Remo is very kind and careful and support us with useful information all the time. The studio is very comfortable for two adults and a child furnished with stile and well equipped for cooking and eating at home. The building is with inner yard with outside panoramic elevator. We made only a breakfast there because of the region that is full with good restaurants with normal prices /there is a queue in front of trattoria Luzzi all the time because of tasty kitchen/. It is very easy to go strolling at night in the antic center of Rome at night around Colloseo, Rome Forum and all other significant places in the center. The position of the apartment is very appropriate for rest in the afternoon from hard sightseeing. We felt as we had been at home in Remo`s studio for reasonable price and perfect location. I`m sure that we come back there soon. Thank you, Remo! Aneliya, Yoana and Dimitar from Bulgaria
