This is my first ever TripAdvisor review and my stay at Vatican View is simply the reason why I have chosen to make the effort.

Almost everything about this hotel should be an example for all other small boutique hotels to follow. It has everything you could possibly wish for in superbly-located city hotel; from honest and personable customer service, to a beautiful roof-top terrace, to a very high standard of room cleanliness.
We were greeted by Fabio upon checking in. He spent a great deal of time talking us through the sites, restaurants and shopping streets - despite my best efforts to steer him away from the shopping tips! We were then brought to our freely upgraded room where Fabio showed us everything from how to work the beautiful shower to locking the safe. You could tell from speaking to him that he truly believes in this hotel and that the only way to get business is to provide the customer with the best service possible; and he is absolutely right - It always disappoints me when I visit top hotels where the facilities are prioritised as the hotel selling points, and the importance of good customer service is sometimes forgotten.

In terms of balancing my review, I think it's only fair to add a couple of points for improvement/consideration (I don't say negatives because they really aren't that negative). Firstly, depite the lovely flat-screen tv in our room there wasn't one single English channel or radio station - trust me, I checked them all, and there were at least 150! Secondly, because of the fact that you get physical keys to rooms versus cards they are very loud when entering the room. We were always awoken at around 8-8:30 am every morning with guests/cleaners visiting the various rooms on our floor. There is also no "Do Not Disturb" sign which meant we had knocks on our door at 9am on occasions. For us being on a holiday after a night out it wasn't ideal!

To return to the positives, we had the pleasure of meeting Alessandra upon checking out - We also saw Fabio again, but I think he forgot who we were! Alessandra was incredibly helpful and even kept the bill out of sight of my girlfriend knowing that it was a birthday present for her! She also kept a bottle of wine we had on the terrace off the bill and offered it as a present....if that's not good customer service I don't know what is! She also locked away our luggage for the day until we returned later and gave us great advice on how to best get to the airport.

All in all, I would strongly recommend this hotel and we will certainly be returning to the Vatican View when we next make a trip to Rome. I'm already looking forward to it!

Dear Keith,

Thank you so much for this wonderful review!
It was a pleasure to meet and help you and your girlfriend.

For us, the staff of the Vatican View, customers are very important .. from beginning to the end .. We are happy to know that, once again, we give you our love for the job that we do. Of course all of this is possible thanks to the structure that, at its core, combining elegant, design, comfort and, as icing on the cake, a beautiful terrace with a view of the St. Peter's Dome!

Come back soon :)

A big hug from all of us.

Alessandra.

If you need somewhere to stay and want to at the Vatican stay here. Just a great location. 400 yards from the Vatican, 8 mins from the Metro and many places to eat nearby. Rome is pretty small so it's good for all other places too.

The room was modern and very clean.

Roof top garden in the summer is fantastic.

Room Tip: Stayed in Room 412 - great.

Location, location, location. If you are in Rome for a short trip and want to have easy access to the Vatican (5 - 10 min walk), St. Peter's (around the corner) and a metro stop to get around the city, you can't beat the Vatican View for it's proximity and value.

The rooms are a little cramped, but they are nice, modern and comfortable. There's no lobby, but the office is just outside the entrance and (seemingly) staffed full-time. The elevator does not come all the way down to the entrance, but the staff will carry your bags for you. A huge perk that we weren't aware of in advance is the Roof Deck. It's beautifully furnished and a perfect place to pop open a bottle of wine (or two) after a tiring day of walking around the city.

I should note that the staff was exceptionally helpful, which was not a given in all of our stays across Italy. They went out of their way to answer questions and help make our stay more comfortable. Especially Daniel.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Vatican View for only two nights enroute to Greece. The hospitality and welcome we received from Alessandra and Fabio was wonderful. We arrived early in the day but our room was ready for us. The room was large with French doors and a small balcony. We only regret the weather was not warmer to enjoy it and the roof top terrace. The king size bed was also wonderful and comfortable! The large shower was a pleasant surprise. We also had free wi fi which worked great. Alessandra was very accommodating and provided us with wonderful restaurant suggestions for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The location was perfect for us as we were around the corner from the Vatican. Our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed longer. Alessandra and Fabio made our first visit to Rome perfect. Thank you both and we hope to return soon!

We've just returned from a wonderful six day trip to Rome, this hotel played a large part in making it so successful. Alessandra, Daniel and Fabio went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, well provided for, and fully informed regarding places to visit and restaurants. Our room had a huge walk-in shower, fully stocked bathroom, big comfortable bed, large closet which took the cases too, and a great little kitchen. We also availed ourselves of the complimentary water, fast wi-fi and good security. The re-vamp has brought this building and rooms into the 'boutique' category without the pretentious decorations or outrageous prices. The roof terrace is delightful, the furnishings and lighting create a warm and friendly atmosphere. We'll certainly be booking here again, and look forward to bringing friends to experience this magical city.

We wanted to take a minute to say how extremely pleased we were with this hotel. We choose to use the hotels airport pickup service as this was our first visit to Rome. The cost for this was 60 Euro each way. We were met at the airport and taken in style (Mercedes Limo) wow to this fantastic hotel. On arrival the hotel does not look to be anything extraordinary however, the inside most certainly had the wow factor. It is really modern and well designed. We were really pleased with our room the bed was really big and comfortable. There is a fridge which was stocked up daily with a new bottle of water. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of advice on getting around Rome. The location of the Hotel was spot on for getting about Rome and it was a stones throw away from St Peters Square. We would definately recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness, friendliness and value. If we ever visit Rome again we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel and use their airport pickup service again.

Thank you for the wonderful review.. it was so nice from you :)
Relais Vatican View is a little but charming Hotel. As you wrote, from outiside you think is a normal building but, where you enter, you can see all its magic.. a particulary stair, modern and luxury design, beautiful rooms, bathrooms with big showers, the panoramic terrace and a family staff!
What is the cherry on the cake? Absolutely our wonderful clients like you!!

We hope to see you again soon.

I wanted to take a minute to recommend Vatican View to anyone who plans to travel to Rome;) From the moment that we arrived, Daniel fussed over us like we were royalty! My mom was a bit tired from our travels, but Daniel had her Laughing out Loud in no time! Offered to bring us cappuccino to the rooftop while we waited for our room to be ready, and also recommended a local place for breakfast that was fantastic. Rooms were spotless, tastefully appointed, and the wifi worked VERY WELL!!!! This can be a challenge in traveling in general. Daniel even made sure that he hand delivered our luggage to us...the other professional staff that we encountered all went above and beyond as well! A peaceful oasis in a big city. Please be sure to have a glass of wine on the rooftop one night - the view is breathtaking. Vatican View ROCKS!!!

Dear Kakkiko

First of all, sorry for our late reply...
Like we said many many times we are happy only when the gust is happy and we really cares about all your needs.
True this, our hotel is a peaceful oasis, for example all the windows have double glasses that means NO NOISE at night and with the free wifi all our guests are free to talk through internet with their own family back at home.
By he way, You and your mom spent just a night here at the Vatican View and your promise was "Daniel, we'll back as soon as possible"...
I hope that this answer will find you and find you well, our doors will be always open for amazing people like you are.

A big hug,

Daniel.
