“Paul's Prison - Hard to Find - Maybe Peter's”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

This is the Prison of Paul and maybe Peter, look down the hole that they fed him through and dropped him down. The steps were built in 1800's prior to that only the hole. Only $3 euro to see only this area - but the museum is more and may be worth it we were in a time crunch. Also, has a painting on the side where it is said that they blooded his face on the wall. This is a must see - remember his words that he had fought a good fight. Go to the back of the Emmanuel Victoria and it is in the building that run's parallel with the forum - half way up the narrow stairway.

“Do not go, total waste of time!!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 via mobile

I feel so strongly that I have to make sure future visitors to Rome do not go here! I wish we had done our research first!

This is NOT a visit around the old prison! There is one room which I suppose is the actual authentic cell? The rest is a ridiculous multimedia experience with walls telling their stories and then sitting in a fake church with five minutes about Jesus and Christianity. Really not worth a visit, so disappointing just stay outside where the real history is rather than going in this joke of a historical site.

“How To Mess Up An Historical Site”
Reviewed 22 August 2012

We visited this historical site in May, 2012 and found it to be a hyped-up, fantasized, Hollywood-ized attraction. A total disappointment. What a shame that they took a legitimate historical spot and ruined it in order to make a Euro or two! Take some photos outside (free) and forget "touring" the prison. It's a waste. Peter and Paul would be ashamed.

“Outrageously overpriced”
Reviewed 18 January 2011

For your 10 EUR, you get to watch a video with a ridiculously poor narrative, which goes as far as to imagine what the stones would say if they could speak ('Ah, I can't breathe!' and 'I should have been placed in a better place!' etc.). Total waste of time, considering the abundance of historic sites nearby.

The carcer itself consists of two small rooms on two levels with a connecting hole. Interesting, but the regular visitor probably wouldn't spend more than 5-7 minutes exploring it.
