We stayed at Maribells last year for a few nights and when returning to Rome this year we immediately wanted to have a repeat visit at Maribell. We really love Marina and her charming and helpful personality. Nothing is too much for her and each morning we would give her so much to look for us online, mapping out our route to wherever we were visiting that day, whether it was going to be by foot, by bus or by train. Marina has everything at her finger tips and solves all your problems for the day. She also has a lot of recommendations and if you wish she will arrange your tickets for the Vatican or whatever else you may need.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and up to date in style. You might prefer the room with the ensuite or like us, you might choose the larger bedroom with the separate bathroom. It is very conveniently arranged and very private.
The breakfast is excellent with yoghurts, croissants, cereals etc along with juice and excellent espresso or capuccinos.
This year Marina has an extra addition to her family. We all fell in love with Arturo, Marina's full size Dachsund. He is adorable and sooo well behaved. He was allowed a little visit each morning and he was one of the highlights of the day.
You will like Maribell because, it is so private. There are two rooms available with a communal breakfast area and each time we have stayed together with two friends and so have had the place totally to ourselves, but it is also very private for just one couple. I love the boutiquey and yet homey atmosphere.
The location is one of Maribells best features. You are a short walk from Piazza Navona in one direction, the Vatican in the other direction and in a third direction you are a few minutes from Piazza de Popola. So whichever way you walk you are very close to different major attractions whether you are looking for historic sites or the wonderful shopping that seems unending in Rome. We also walked to the Gallery Borghese from Maribells.
I hope to return to Rome as it is my favorite city and if, or shall I say when I do I shall head for Maribells and stay with Marina and Arturo, the best value in town.

Room Tip: Both rooms are good. The room with the ensuite is a little smaller. We like the room with the separa...

A fresh place to stay. The rooms were very spacious and clean with modern decor. The morning breakfast of fresh Italian coffee and croissants is delicious! The location is conveniently located within 15 min walk to the Vatican and local bus lines to travel further. 4 of us stayed and loved it. Highly recommended

Fantastis service. Marina was so helpful and gave some great advise. Our room was really big and comfortable so made for a lovely stay. The Maribel is close to the Vatican and St Peters so ideal for that area whilst being away from the really busy main tourist area. Will definitely be going back.

We stayed 5 nights in Sep 2012 & could not have been happier. Rather than a B&B, it’s like staying with a friend. For us, it’s not just the room & location (which are both fantastic), it’s the people & Marina is a genuinely lovely hostess. She knows central Rome backwards & could not have been more friendly or helpful in advice, recommendations & arranging transfers, entrance tickets, etc. Our room was lovely, location 10 min. walk to the Vatican, 25 mins. to the Via del Corso & next street parallel to the Via Cola di Rienzo (great for eating & shopping). Wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we go back.

My wife and I recently stayed at Maribell and found the accommodations to be terrific. Marina was very helpful during the complete process from booking, arrival and departure. Upon arrival she gave us the complete information we needed for our stay pointed out transportation to destinations of our interest. The rooms are top rate, clean with A/C and a small refrigerator, TV and bathroom was well supplied. Large towels too, which we found in Italy to be a bonus... When it came time to depart we had to have a car and driver which she arrange for us and she woke up extra early to accommodate our departure time so we had breakfast. I would recommend Marina and her B&B! We would stay here again!

I warmly recommend Maribell to anyone looking for accommodation in Rome - our room was light and spacious with air conditioner and everything you need for a stay (big wardrobe, hair dryer, comfortable beds, TV etc), the location is great (walking distance to Spanish steps but still not in the middle of the touristic area) and service very friendly. Compared to many of the hotels in Rome, this is great value for money.

Thank you Marina (& Arturo!), see you next time!

Room Tip: The bigger room has a private, separate bathroom, so you have to exit the room to use it. Don't...

We stayed at Maribell from 25 - 28 June and couldn't be happier with our experience. Marina was friendly and helpful from our first contact via email, suggesting things to do in Rome, arranging an airport pick-up for us and greeting us with a smile even when we got in well after midnight due to a delayed flight. She also recommended and booked dinner at a fantastic local restaurant for us (3Quarti) after we had a disappointing experience at another restaurant on our first night.

The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean with an air-conditioning system that is a godsend on hot summer days! We both slept very well, although light sleepers should note that there is occasional street noise from Romans trying to escape the heat outside. Breakfast provisions were generous and delicious. Croissants, cereal, yoghurt, bread and savoiardi biscuits were on offer, along with great coffee made by Marina.

Maribell is located approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Vatican and an easy walk across the Tiber into Rome, however there is a metro station nearby if you prefer. It was great to stay somewhere that wasn't inundated with tourists and hawkers as soon as you stepped out of the front door - it felt as though we were staying in a neighbourhood rather than a tourist precinct.

Thank you, Marina for an authentic Roman experience! We'll come see you again next time we're in Rome.
