Owner description: This busy and lively neighborhood has the look and feel of a traditional small Italian town, with people shopping, chatting, drinking espresso and going about their daily business.

One of the places to be in the evening/ at night. Many bars and restaurants, crowds ... drinks. Good energy. For day time you can checkout the botanic garden, Gianicolo hill with nice view , fountain and park and the Santa Maria in Trastevere church and piazza

This is a good local spot. You have plenty good restaurants, and nightlife. You will want to cab it from here to the major sights though. We stayed at Hotel San Francesco and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend the area.

At about 6pm each night, a cooling breeze blows through the Eternal City, making it not only bearable in July/August, but purely magical to be in amongst the 'passaggieri' people. Families, lovers, friends and tourists all mix and mingle in an age-old tradition of simply ambling through quaint cobbled alleys and corridors, breathing in the Roman philosophy of "dolce fa niente". There is something for everyone in Trastevere and I truly missed my sweetheart on this occasion as it was sooo romantic. We ate at Carlomenta Ristorante and 4 euro got us yet another classic pizza at a great spot.
