Owner description: Certainly the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, legend has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return to Rome.

Wonderful site. Learn the history before you visit. Expect large crowds! Don't eat nearby as restaurants have high prices!

Loved just sitting and having ice cream by the fountain. A beautiful place to eat, drink and relax - lots of tourists so do keep any eye on your belongings.

Just throw a coin facing the other side and over your shoulder, and hope that you will come back. This tradition of throwing coins there is so famous as the fountain itself which was built almost three centuries ago. This is an incredibly beautiful masterpiece for any tourist to admire. Come here, preferably early or late at night, and look for the best angle to take a picture avoiding the crowds. And then try to get closer to the edge and look at the beautiful carved statues that make this a world-known piece of art. When I came here again in the afternoon of 4/29, a girl with a "Marcello come here" sign was melancholically looking for Marcello (Mastroianni), the actor of many Federico Fellini's movies. In the movie "La Dolce Vita", Marcello was looking for Anita Ekberg and he finds her inside this fountain playing with the water, and trying to seduce him. If you try to enter the fountain (or pick up coins from it) you will be stopped by the guards. Instead take another picture and enjoy being there. And maybe if you look better, you will imagine, like I did, Marcello wanting to kiss Anita while she looks gorgeous and unreachable.

Very beautiful fountain, especially at night. There's always a ton of people there taking pictures so if you want one right in front of it, you better be aggressive. Also be wary of those immigrants standing around shining those stupid green lasers. They might ruin your shot. Other then that, have fun and don't forget to make a wish.
