This hotel is simply amazing. Drinking a cocktail at the patio after walking around Rome was a great experience. Location is not the best, but the hotel provides shuttle buses. I would recommend this hotel.

Located at the highest point of Rome, this 5 star luxury hotel provides top notch service that will make your visit oh-so memorable!

ROOM: Our room has a balcony overlooking the astonishing view of the eternal city.

SERVICE: We have received at least 2 turn down services per day which is incredible, housekeeping made sure all our bathroom amenities are all replaced. Our beds are always tidy and they never forget to place chocolates on each side which is a fantastic touch :)

LOCATION: The Rome Cavalieri is approx. 15 minutes away from the city center.

BREAKFAST: Impressive. I am a major fan of Hilton breakfast but Waldorf Astoria Rome has an extensive buffet with fresh selection of fruits, bread etc. Pretty healthy indeed. Plus, if weather will allow, take a spot on the outside terrace to enjoy the greenery surrounding the hotel!

SHUTTLE SERVICE: Hotel provides shuttle service every hour to Barberini which is 5 minutes away from Fontana de Trevi, Spanish steps, Via del Corso (main attractions of rome). This is by far the most convenient service provided by the hotel since taxi is really expensive in this city. Special mention to Massimiliano (driver) who we believe the most helpful, hardworking staff at the Rome Cavalieri- never fails to give us tips about where to go and what to do in Rome.

I highly recommend staying in this hotel than choosing the boutique ones... It is remarkably pleasing.

When I told my son-in-law that my Lady and I were spending 6 nights in Rome, he recommended the Cavalieri … the best hotel in which he’d ever stayed. Since he always travels 5-star, that was good enough for me.

My Lady and I got the King Deluxe Premium with the Rome view. We were given a room on the 5th floor, a room with an adjoining door to the next room. We found it difficult to sleep the first night even though we were exhausted. The reason is because of the noise from people talking in the adjoining room. They weren’t talking loudly; the sounds were coming through the adjoining door. By the way, this first room had a bathtub that needed caulking, and utility racks in the tub that were loaded with grime and mildew. One of the dresser drawers was broken. When we asked to be moved to a quieter room the next morning, we were moved to the 6th floor and to a room without an adjoining door. The degree of quietness was acceptable. We noticed, however, that each of our rooms had a large gap between the entrance door and the floor. This allowed light and noise from the hallway to enter your room.

As it turns out, floors 7, 8 and 9 require a special key for the elevators to reach them. It is on these floors that luxury begins. Floors 6 and below are for the average folks like me. Neither of our rooms had bathroom ventilation or a Jacuzzi. My son-in-law told me that they had it all in their suite on the 9th floor. My Lady and I have travelled a lot over the past 10 months, and this is the only room we’ve had without bathroom ventilation. All but 2 hotels had Jacuzzis, but those hotels didn’t pretend to be elite.

The map of Rome that the hotel provides doesn’t include the Cavalieri because it is removed from Rome. The hotel shuttle takes 30 minutes to carry you to civilization. The best feature of the hotel is its view of Rome, and it’s the ONLY selling point for me. The 295 euro breakfast for 2 sets the tone for pretentiousness. Internet access is 20 euros per day. No coffee or tea is provided in your room … so if you want some at the hotel … empty your pockets.

No hotel without bathroom ventilation should be ever be considered a 5-star hotel. Maybe the Cavalieri should market itself as 2 separate hotels at this location; 5-star for floors 7,8 and 9 … and 3-star for floors 6 and below.

Room Tip: Remember that this hotel is removed from Rome and is more like a resort for the wealthy. If you wan...

I loved your hotel so much that I didn't even leave the grounds throughout my stay - even though ROME was only 1/2 hour down the hill! This hotel is a memory in the making. LOVE your hotel and your staff and the ambiance and luxury. I stay in hotels all over the world and this one is now #1 on the top of my list.

We had an amazing time at the Cavalieri.

Our room overlooked a small Park and Rome. We would sit on the balcony listening to the church bells and birds chirping every morning, so relaxing. This was the best Hilton Honors breakfast I have ever had, with many fresh juices and much to choose from - awesome! The bed was Heaven, huge pillows and so comfy.

Markus our concierge did an amazing job getting us set up on great tours (pay the extra fee for a smaller tour or single guide), shipping things for us, etc. He also knew of a great coin shop in an out of a way spot were we bought some rare roman coins for our family. So helpful and he made our trip to rome. Overall staff Great and treat you like a king.

The few warnings that come with this Hotel. The Hotel is full of rich and beautiful Italians. You will feel out of place in a t-shirt and tennis shoes. Never get a room in the front of the hotel because they overlook nearby apartments. Prices are high, but hey you get what you pay for.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Always get a room in back of the hotel!

Stayed 3 nights at the waldorf. Was highly recommended by a brother. We upgraded to the imperial lounge which was the way to do it. Especially for those foodies and drinkers out there. Open 7am-11pm. The spa, gym and pool were perfect. Thanks to the upgrade we didnt have to pay for the amenities. Only flaw was a man at concierge. My fiancé and i went out to town for a dinner. We asked for a cab at the front of hotel. We were the only one waiting, then some italian speaking men came out and the concierge gave the first 2 cabs to them. I called him out and got into a little tiff. A little disappointing start to our evening but got passed it. I would stay again for sure.

We stayed three nights (On Points) in May. As a Hotel the Cavalieri is first class. The rooms are spacious and very well decorated and equipped. You will have to take a taxi everywhere so be prepared for that. You will probably not eat any meals there, unless you are ready to pay very high prices. (How about a 50 euro pp breakfast!) We are more down to earth people and feel more comfortable in nice but more modest and affordable places. However for free using points it was a treat.
Please note: if you take a cab from the airport ONLY use a taxi that will charge you the published rate on the side of the cab. Some will try to tell you every story in the book about why they are 60- 90 euro instead of the $47 euro printed right on the cab! Our driver "switched" the $50 euro bill I gave him and tried to say I gave him only a $20!! There are a lot of swindlers at the airport. Before getting into any cab, write down their cab number right in front of them and you will never have a problem. I felt compelled to say this.
