OK - the area is not the greatest and, from the outside, the buidling doesn't impress.
BUT ! That all changes once you step inside.
Staff excellent (everything happens immediately); rooms - great; restaurant - dream cuisine; pool - excellent with afternoon entertainment for kids; views - marvellous right onto Rome and Vatican City.
Their Imperial Club is the "bit more". You pay a bit extra but, we found, it's wll worth while. It is a lounge area located on the 7th floor. There you'll find a buffet that changes throughout the day (breakfast; snacks, light lunch; snacks; light dinner) and drinks ranging from orange jiuce over wines to cocktails. You could spend the entire day there just relaxing and enjoying the marvellous views of Rome. All that for a very reasonable fixed access charge.
One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Family; incl. dog, all loved it.

Room Tip: Get a room 4th floor, or higher, and facing Rome and Vatican City which will give you marvellous vie...

Beautiful hotel, superb staff, beautiful grounds & pool area. But shocked when we were told we had to pay €18 per person to use the sun loungers we could swim for free but not lie down afterwards ! We complained & were given complimentary sun loungers for the rest of our stay. For the cost of staying there it seems unthinkable that they feel this is ok ! Breakfast was superb but the cost of the pool bar food was outrageous for the poor quality served to us. Needless to say we ate in Rome for the rest of our stay.
If booking this hotel check very carefully the small print.

Room Tip: Try & get a Rome view as the hotels on the back all look onto a massive communications pylon.

Having been fortunate enough to visit this hotel as a child, I was delighted to find that the Cavalieri hasn't changed after so many years and remains unparalleled both in its setting and customer service. Genuinely, every member of staff went out of their way to offer the best experience possible (special mention to the highly enthusiastic minibus driver!). I highly recommend opting for the breakfast buffet which caters for every palate. The only couple of niggles I have is having to pay extra for wifi and to use the swimming pool even without a sun bed (should really be included given the cost of the rooms). Having said this, I hope to be back without leaving it so long next time! Bravissimi!

Room Tip: As to be expected, the nearer the top, the better the view!

On a recent trip to Rome, I decided to book this hotel for my daughter and me to have a resort-like atmosphere after cultural experiences in Rome. What a delightful experience this hotel is. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and each has a balcony. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully manicured and conceived. The pools are immaculately clean, large and inviting, and the staff understands the importance of consistent, professional, and polite service.
Since the purpose of the trip was to introduce my twelve year old to the glories of Roman culture, our days were full with experiences in the city. To have the Cavalieri to return to was a perfect counterpoint to our busy days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to combine culture and relaxation.

While the hotel has beautiful shuttle buses that take you into the center of Rome on a frequent schedule, I would also like to commend that Roman taxi system. We took quite a few taxis in Rome, and to a driver, it was a delightful experience. I live in NYC, and yearn for clean cars, intelligent drivers, and polite service. As to the expense incurred, it was insignificant when I think of what we gained by this small luxury.

Final note: I opted to stay in the least expensive room and did not have one of the rooms that overlook Rome. While I am sure those rooms are really special, even though our room didn't have a view we still enjoyed our time on our balcony.

Room Tip: If you are there with a romantic agenda, opt for the rooms on a high floor with a view of Rome. The...

This resort has a very impressive and majestic lobby when you walk in (doesn't look like much on the outside) and also houses a beautiful collection of art works. Staff are polite and efficient.
We booked the imperial floor rooms with access to the imperial lounge. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with great ammenities. Beds and pillows are very comfortable.
House keeping did a fantastic job and even when I forgot to lock our safe, found everything untouched.
Imperial lounge is nice with well laid out seating and amazing view if you grab a seat on the balcony.
The buffet breakfast in the lounge is just okay and will get you started but nothing sumptious or refined as described. Great coffee and tea though. The tea-time, light lunch, and all day (7 am to 11 pm) snacks provided are good but again, nothing go-ooo-d or amazing. Drinks are very good! Kudos to the imperial longe staff! They are super efficient.
Pools are great and area very enjoyable. Grand spa is amazing and absolutely relaxing!
Shuttle service ran efficiently and was a plus for the 1 day we used it. Also, taxis are readily available which we used for most of our stay. Taxis were just more convenient for us being a family, not having to follow a schedule, and took us directly to where we wanted to go.
We greatly enjoyed our stay here and liked the location away from the city center. Our kids (13, 8, 6 yrs) thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely stay again.

The hotel is close to the Vatican City and has great views over Rome. There is little within walking distance though so be prepared to pay for taxis. Imperial rooms are very large and have great quality bedding. However the black marble bathrooms have seen better days and walls and floors are very marked giving the impression they are dirty. Be prepared to pay extra for everything here. A sun lounger is €18pp for the day! Drinks and food, as you might expect, are exorbitantly expensive. Having said all that it is an oasis is busy, hot Rome and service is generally very good.

This hotel certainly has a lot going for it, however, some things still need improving to make the stay awesome.
The first thing i found very disappointing, they charge you 18 euro to lay on the pool chairs. Really, imagine going to an expensive hotel and someone saying, you can swim for free but it cost to relax around our pool. well that's what happens here.
Another issue, they have a shuttle into down and back, just got left behind because the shuttle only seats 30 people, yet the hotel probably has hundreds of rooms.
