This hotel is beautiful - comparable, if not better than the Bellagio in Vegas. Definitely one of the nicest hotels I have stay at.

The hotel is located about 10 to 15 minutes outside of Rome. They do have a shuttle that drops off in two place in the center of Rome every 30 minutes (not 24hrs) so the location really isn't that big of an issue. Cab rides to the hotel will run you 15 euros max. The location is actually kind of nice cause it allows you to retreat from the busy city when you want some quiet time.

I would definitely stay here again.

We are Hilton Gold VIP members and stayed 3 nights at the Rome Cavalieri hotel. I must stay this is an absolutely stunning hotel all 5 star qualities. The hotel is located high up on a hill and approximtaely 15 minutes outside of the busy Rome. The hotel provides a shuttle service daily that takes you to the Barberini Square every hour.

The rooms at his hotel is HUGE and all the rooms have a balcony with a beautiful view of Rome, including the Vatican City. The hotel has 2+ pools (in door/outdoor), restaurants, VIP lounge areas, spa, gym, hot tub, drinks, shops, and all the necessities that you might possibily need.

The only set back might be the cost of the hotel. We used our points and as Gold VIP, we also get unlimited snacks/drinks from 11am - 11pm and free breakfast by the pool every morning. if cost is not an issue to you, then this is DEFINITELY the hotel to stay in. You can go out during the day and come back to a peaceful night of sleep/rest at the beautiful hotel.

This is a belated review of a wonderful vacation. My wife and I are planning another trip to Europe, and once again Trip Advisor is proving invaluable. As such, I feel obligated to balance all my "taking" with a little "give".

We spent four nights at the Cavalieri last May, and it was unbelievable. Had we not been using Hilton Honors points, we never would have stayed at such an expensive hotel. Boy am I glad we did! Hooray for the Hilton Honors program, and maybe all that business travel wasn't so bad after all. :>)

Rome was the first stop on an 18-day Italy visit, my first to Europe. We got off the plane typically frazzled after a trip across the pond, and proceeded to suffer a clueless cabdriver who got hopelessly lost in the middle of the night looking for the hotel. It is rather "out there".

It wasn't until we finally checked into our room that we discovered how lucky we were. Wow! Big closets, a plush (if somewhat small and dated) gold and marble bathroom, a luxurious sleeping area as well as a sitting area with desk, and to top it all off a balcony with a spectacular view of the Vatican! There was even a box of chocolates left as a gift.

We ordered a bottle of wine, a salad, a pizza, and a gelato, sat on the balcony at midnight, and pinched ourselves to confirm we were really in a place this plush! This small meal was about 100 Euros, but it was convenient and it was the only meal we had at the hotel (other than the free breakfast). The pizza and salad were pretty mediocre, but the wine and gelato hit the spot. We were not told about the executive lounge, by the way.

Our impression was only enhanced the next morning, when we went down to the breakfast buffet (free for Hilton Honors gold VIPs). We sat under a beautiful shade tree by their inviting pool, surrounded by the well-manicured grounds. Unlimited fresh-squeezed orange juice and espressos (we were pretty wired that first day!), and a buffet that went on for miles. What a selection! Much better than the Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice. We later spent an afternoon swimming and sunning by the pool, and felt totally "hollywood".

We took advantage of the shuttle each morning, but typically came home at night by taxi. Other than that first driver, everyone else seemed to know where the hotel was located. Yes, it cost more than we would have spent on a ride home to a downtown hotel, but when we're staying for free we don't mind.

Like the Molino Stucky, where we stayed for six nights later in our trip, this Hilton gets lots of conference business. The chain-smoking, frenetic italians in business suits clogging the lobby diminsh the otherwise idylic vibe of the hotel, but it's a small complaint about an otherwise perfect setting.

I don't know if this is the best Rome has to offer, nor do I know if it is worth the price, but it was the best hotel we visited in Italy, and one of the best hotels we've stayed in around the world. It was the balcony view from our room, the breakfast, the pool and the grounds that really made this place stand out. Thank you Hilton Honors!

As other reviewers point out this hotel is great. Great rooms, great grounds, great views. But . . . the restaurant prices were absolutely absurd. 28€ for a hamburger. 46€ for veal saltimbocca. 12€ for French fries. Also 16€ for a lounge bed by the pool.

We were here on points but the hotel just stopped 7th floor lounge access for HH members & switched to a main floor lounge that opened at 11am. So . . . we had to go to Rome for an affordable breakfast. The hotel wanted 30€ for this . . .

So if you stay here ask the consierge for the map of the limited area restaurants & plan to do your eating in the city.

I would recommend it as long as you can afford the food.

If this is your first time in Rome it may not be the best place since walking around town at night is rather magical, and I am not sure I would want to pass-up that experience. However, what a terrific refuge - the facility is big but top notch, the place is stunning(other than the sort of generic architecture on the exterior) nad the servie level is fantastic. We were only there a couple days, but we went into town for the day and then came back for a nice break from the heat and hussle.
We ate at La Pergula one night and it is an easy and not sxpenisve ride into town for dinner.
Let me add that La Pergula is stunning and one of the best meals I have ever had. Service is as reported - magnificant, and the food was inventive, tasty and expertly prepared!!

This hotel is really a rip off and the service which shout be in place at this price level is an understatement. All extra's which normally shout be included are additional such us a mattress on the bed by the swimming pool for 16 euros each,....... cheeseburger for top dollars (28 euros) which honest was a really bad experience,........never eat such disgusting burger as that one,....... on top I also had to pay an extra charge of 5 euros because I ordered it into my room. PLease,....please do yourself an favor and just do not book a room in this hotel. For restaurant La Pergola I only can say the opposite this was a beautiful treatment of luxury, service and tasteful food. When you want to stay in a luxury hotel in Rome I will recommend The Hassler Hotel just next to the Spanish steps, this is a hotel as it shout be.

What a great hotel. BUT it was way too expensive 11 euro's for a bottle of beer wow! Luckily I was staying on points and was treated like royalty. Access to the HHonors lounge (although nobody check if you are entitled to enter and it is not locked)

We simply could not afford to eat there in the evenings we had to go into the city, getting the shuttle in eating in a local restaurant and getting a cab back still saved us 60% of the cost of eating in the "international restaurant"!

No complaints re the hotel the room the service just too costly
