“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 via mobile

We had a lovely stay at this hotel from the 31/01/14 until the 04/02/14. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a very helpful receptionist who promptly checked us in and handed us our room key. We were pleasantly surprised with our room, it was lovely and we had a view of the Vatican. The hotel is in a good location and the sights can be easily walked to. It was a shame the weather wasn't very good but that's the only thing you can't change and it didn't ruin our experience of Rome. It's a fantastic city. I would recommend this hotel.

So disappointed with our 3 night stay here last week. We are a 22 year old couple and we were looked down upon by the reception staff and were treated very poorly, they were extremely unfriendly towards us from arrival to departure! Didn't go for Free breakfast on any of the mornings as felt far too uncomfortable from the start. We went to ask at reception to book into the restaurant for an evening meal and we were told it was not open but could eat in the bar, even though the previous day we were told it was open. Apparently all the in room safe's were broken and they were very unfriendly when we asked about ours in our room and also when asking for a near by supermarket to get water ect. Felt they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Was a present from my partner for my birthday so he was very upset as took a lot of time to decide which hotel to chose. Would never stay here again or advise anyone of the younger generation to do so either. To give credit where it was due, was good location and room size big, pick up from airport was all on time but when booking our return journey they were rude and uninformative. Also gutted as would have liked to have experienced the view of Vatican from restaurant but we knew where we were not wanted. Brilliant time in Rome but hotel played no part in this.

The staff was top notch - front desk, bell hop, housekeeping, and wait staff. Very warm, personable, and helpful. They interacted with all the guests. Not stuffy like in corporate hotels I've stayed at in Roma. The location is perfect - I walked everywhere - San Pietro, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo. Breath-taking view from the restaurant and terrace. My room was quaint and comfortable. Loved sitting in the lobby with the other guests, sipping an aperitif, talking, or quietly relaxing after walking all over Rome. I will definitely stay at Hotel Atlante Star next time I'm in Roma.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view of the Vatican from the rooftop terrace. It is far from most of the major tourist sites ( except the Vatican). The room was clean and quiet. I found the staff helpful and I took advantage of free airport pick up. Do note that the return to the airport is not free and slightly cheaper than a taxi.

Great hotel with terrific view of St Peter's church from the breakfast room/restaurant. Good breakfast with many choices. Close to the Vatican City and museums. Free transport from the airport. Great value for money

Nice hotel well situated away from busy Termini area.Rooms are small but adequate to italian standards. Quality fenestration prevents from street noise. Breakfast (nice buffet) or sunset on the terrasse is a must. I would not hesitate to return.

This was our 3rd stop on our Italian vacation, and an unfortunate way to end our trip. Hotel Atlante Star disappointed on many levels. First: An extremely unhelpful and often rude front desk staff. Second: A disco in the building that blasted music past midnight 2 of the 3 nights we were there. Third: Dark, dingy, uncomfortable rooms. I am only 5'2" and my toes hung off the bottom of the bed! The upside was the proximity to the Vatican (a 10 minute walk); as well as the views of the Vatican from both the breakfast room (which was great) as well as the roof deck. In short: I recommend you look for other hotels, and only stay here if there's nothing else available.
