“The view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

The monument is pretty overwhelming in the middle of the city I admit, but I still thought it was very nice and grand - walking up the steps gave a very awe-inspired feeling. The tomb of the unknown soldier is here, as is a lovely balcony that has a nice view and a cool breeze - but the best for us was the trip to the top of the monument! It is worth the price to go up the elevator and get the view over Rome from that height and in the middle of the City, wow!

“Overpowering Momument”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

The monument is so overpowering in size that it dwarfs everything around it. I will admit that it is quite beautiful in a kind of grotesque way. But it just seems so out of place considering that it is located just next to the forum.

The views from the top are quite fantastic.

There is no fee to go inside but there is a fee to go up the elevator to the top.

“very near to capitoline museum....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

You do not have to go any where separately to see it. If you walk through the back side of the roman forum towards the capitoline museum, you will find this monument in your way.

“Monument at Altare della patria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

The monument, together with the whole Atare della Patria, is beautiful. It's part of the Rome's skyline, and therefore visible from almost everywhere in the city. Views from the terrace were also nice. We didn't take the elevator to the roof, though (7 EUR ticket, and there are many better points in Rome to look over the rooftops).
