“Research the history beforehand”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

You need to research the history of this area beforehand in order to really enjoy it. There were no signs or descriptions anywhere, and there was not much to see. Just a long stretch of grass.

“Boring, nothing to see”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

On the map it seems like an interesting area but there is nothing to see actually. It has its historical importance of course, but it's still quite pointless to visit.
Without trees/shadow this area can be especially warm during the summer.

“Love park, friendly surrounding bars”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

I went looking for a a theatre and found a sandy track showing where it once was, but the park is a nice place to relax away from the crowd and has a lovely bar and ice shop to the north west edge of the green.

“Walk by it but don't linger”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

There really isn't anything to see but a long stretch of nothing. I think they were doing restorations or something when we left. It would be nice to see what could come of it.

“Big historic open space”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The Circus Maximus lies a short ways from the Colosseum and Forum. It is a big open park and is a pleasant place to walk. It's very interesting to imagine what must have gone on there in ancient times. When we visited it looked like they were excavating or renovating part of the area, so it would be fun to go back and see what it presented in the Circus when they finish.
