This is most definitely the heart of the Roman Empire. Iconic monuments, Ceasar's grave, temples, the Curia...and so much more. Wear your walking shoes, there are uneven pavements and this is not the place to wear anything uncomfortable. Not ideal for strollers either. There are also fountains here to get water and fill your bottles. Bring your cameras, hats and be prepared to take in history. Its incredible.

Get your colosseum ticket and combine it with Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Palatine Hill is just breathtaking, there is a lot to see and ton of excavation still going on. The Emperor Augustus' home is there, along with Casa di Livia. The story of Romulus and Remus took place here as well. This is historical excellence. Bring your sneakers, water and hats and prepare to walk and enjoy!

These are must dos when one is visiting Rome! They are all in the vicinity of one another and you get to buy a single ticket which includes entrance to all of the 3 properties. Visit early in the morning as shady areas are limited. Places can be very crowded as they are all very popular.

Book the tour for extra euro - it's worth it! Full of history and information, you would struggle to gain the knowledge without the guides

Hard to take it all in, and the 3hr walk-around flew by! Could spend the whole day there and not be bored.
