“Loved this B&B”

Excellent location, great people. We stayed for three nights, owners Marco & Lina are super nice, breakfast was perfect, clean room and bathroom. We had a very good experience. The B&B is located very close to the Vatican, metro and buses are on the same street.

Room Tip: Don't get fooled by the entrance.

I was travelling across Europe and Rome was my mid-stop. Therefore, I already experienced a few hostels/hotels prior to my arrival at Gauis Roma. This was my only B&B experience, and I must say I enjoyed the hospitality of Lina and Marco.

The location is a 5 minute walk from a subway station and very close to Vatican City. I can't say that there is a lot of good restaurants to eat at around Gauis, but I can say that the breakfast Marco and Lina brought us every morning was delicious! They would provide us a platter filled with bread, pastries, coffee, tea, meat and Nutella. Even when we had to leave at 4 am, Lina would ensure that we were well fed and that breakfast was readily available.

We had an early flight to Greece and public transportation wasn't available. Marco was so helpful in securing us a private taxi (turned out to be a Mercedes sedan) that would take us directly to the airport for a very reasonable price.

The place itself wasn't modern or fancy by any means. You would have to enter a building, pass a courtyard, and climb stairs/risk using the ancient elevator in order to access Gaius Roma. The rooms were clean and roomy, but by no means a modern or 5 star experience. There was only 1 bathroom available to be shared amongst all the guests.

When my friend and I first arrived, I can honestly say we were very hesitant and doubting our decision. But, Gaius Roma received high reviews and I can confidently say that Lina and Marco are the reason anyone would stay at Gauis Roma. They're such a sweet and caring couple. They made our stay enjoyable and the reason I give Gauis Roma 4 stars.

If you're not expecting anything fancy and just hoping for some place to touch down and rest, Gauis Roma is a great choice. It may not have been the nicest place we stayed at, but it is balanced out by the great service!

Marco and Lina are the sweetest couple ever! They welcomed us so warmly into their B&B. They are always so helpful and always have the loveliest smiles on their faces! :) The room was clean and spacious. It felt very homely! :) The location is excellent as well, just a 10 min walk away from Vatican City and the metro stop Ottaviano is right outside their door! Really convenient and relaxing. It was a nice place where we could relax and recharge after a long day of walking around in Rome! :)

Not your average hotel or B & B! In their small apartment tucked away on the fourth floor of a residential building, Lina and Marco seem to have made it their job to be as welcoming as possible to everyone.

The expression 'my home is your home' is over used but here it was exactly what happened. Owing to repair work being done on the other rooms we were the only guests there so it felt like staying in the home of friends who just left you lovely breakfasts to help yourself from, gave you advice about the bets restaurants and ice cream shops and were generally unobtrusive and helpful.

The 'courtyard view' wasn't beautiful and the rickety lift and staircase weren't 5 star standard but to be right in the heart of Roman city life more than made up for it.

A lovely stay with very welcoming people.

This place is beautiful. It is a traditional building in Rome and Lina and Marco (the owners) are a lovely italian couple who made us feel very welcome.

We booked the private ensuite shower double bed room, and it has everything needed. Just remember this is a B+B not a hotel so don't expect complete luxury but still it was perfect for a long weekend.

The location was right next to a metro which is 3/4 stops from Termini. It was easy enough to hop on. Whether or not an older couple may prefer to be closer to the city centre I'm not sure? For the price this is a fantastic traditional place.

Personally I will come back to Rome and stay here rather than a hotel. It makes you feel part of Italy is very warming.

The breakfast was fantastic in the mornings also, Lina and Marco brought fresh fruit, meats, pastry and yoghurt along with coffee's. It was delicious.

Thank you from G&C! Will be back at some point!

We stayed here during August 2013 and it was fantastic. It was very close to the Vatican city - only a short walk away and the metro was also very close which meant easy access all around the city. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had breakfast every morning which was delicious. We did have a little bit of trouble finding it but otherwise great. Definitely a nice change from hostels!!
