This is another attraction we returned to on our second visit to Rome; it has a fine selection of ancient sculptures in an in a lovely building. It isn't crowded and you can wander at your leisure admiring the collection.

As a Roman, I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've walked past Palazzo Altemps a million times and only recently went in for the first time... it was a revalation. The building itself is an architecturally very interesting and it is a joy to just walk through the rooms. Add to that the magnificent sculptures exhibited and it is nothing short of amazing.
Plus, when I was there with my partner, there was almost nobody else there... so please, do visit it, but just a couple at a time!

We got a museum pass that includes Colosseum/Forum/Palatine hill, 4 branches of the museum plus two baths and couple other sites away from center - great investment! If you enjoy museums and have a few days, I highly advise this pass This location has a lot of busts/statues and a nice bookstore (very close to plaza Navona)
