Just returned from a long weekend, in the beautiful city of Rome, and what a weekend we had.
We stayed in the fabulous Albergo del Senato. I could not find any fault with this hotel whatsoever. The staff were truly amazing, special thanks to Allessandro (hope I spelt it correctly) who was so helpful with directions, restaurant reservations advice etc. She made us feel very special.

We did not have a room facing the square, but a room on the side, which overlooke the lovely little lane next to the hotel. We had a twin room, which was spacious and had everything from hairdryer, to lovely toiletries, to complimentary slippers.

Can't wait to return to Rome, and will definitely stay at the Albergo...there is no other place like it.

Room Tip: Obviously a room overlooking the square would be lovely.

The views from the front rooms facing the Pantheon are amazing. One morning I woke at 3am and sat by the window just marvelling at this amazing building, there was not a soul around so I could easily go back to nearly 2000 years ago imagining the people of that time entering this wonderful building. We found everyone at the Albergo del Senato so friendly and helpful, the classy atmosphere of the hotel suggests that it should be more expensive than it is.
We couldn't fault it and will definitely stay again when next in the Eternal City.

Room Tip: Any front room is good, pay the extra rather than take a non Pantheon view, 3rd floor would be my pi...

We had booked a week in Rome for our wedding anniversary, and it couldn't have been better. We were offered a free upgrade to one of the top floor rooms with a balcony - I think we had booked an adjacent room - which was a good start to our holiday. The whole time we were there, the service was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, and we would happily stay in this hotel again. The location couldn't be better, and the whole experience there was excellent.

Room Tip: Get one with a view of the Pantheon if possible - then you can watch everything going on in the Piaz...

We stayed for one night while our cruise ship was overnight in Civitavecchia. Alessandra was at the front desk as we arrived and she was a gracious/helpful a hostess at any hotel that I have stayed.

The hotel/location were excellent right next to the Pantheon. We had booked late so we just had a basic room without a Pantheon view, but the room was still very comfortable. We had no street noise since we were at the back of the hotel. The rooftop bar was very nice and the drink prices were reasonable for the location and once again great staff.

The buffet breakfast was very elaborate in the morning (hot and cold foods) with a very helpful staff.

It was very hot/humid in Rome so you couldn't walk very far. The Colosseum and the Vatican were a 20-30 minute walk. The Colosseum was too long a walk in the heat during the day so we went first thing in the morning. The Trevi fountain and Piazza Navona were only a 5-10 minute walk. The Spanish Steps were about a 25 minute walk.

The room was expensive for a supposed 3 star hotel, but the experience was worthy of a 5 star hotel so it was worth every cent and I would love to stay there again!

Tripadvisor is always our go to when we book a hotel. There is a reason why the Albergo del Senato is #1, it is truly a wonderful place to stay while in Rome!

We stayed at the Albergo del Senato hotel in June, it was the most amazing place to stay, we booked two rooms, one was a suite overlooking the Pantheon which was a fabulous view, the rooms were well maintained and very clean (could do with replacing the pillows though as they were quite hard), the bathrooms could have been a bit bigger but we managed. The hotel is in walking distance to all the sites, approx 15 mins to the Colosseum. Every day we always went upto the rooftop bar which had a fabulous view over Rome, and the bar man "Marinio" was extremely polite, helpfull and looked after us very well. This was our first ever visit to Rome and we will definately be going back and we would`nt stay in any other hotel other than the Albergo.
