We stayed in this hotel for six nights in April 2014. We had a sixth floor superior double room with balcony overlooking the Pantheon. We were disappointed. We paid for a luxury room, but got a very small, stuffy, and noisy room. We had no air conditioning for the first two days. The front desk advised air conditioning was not scheduled to be turned on for a few days...??? The bathroom was also very small, and it was nearly impossible to shower without spraying water all over the floor. The street noise was unbearable. Every day street performers set up in the piazza in front of the hotel and play various instruments. The most annoying was the electric guitar players. This went on every day from around 10:00 AM until dark. I would strongly suggest staying at a Hotel away from any major piazza to avoid the street noise. There are some nice Hotels just behind the Pantheon with the same convenience to the historic district which enjoy peace and quiet.

This hotel was perfect! Great location, great staff and great service. Whilst it's not a big plush 5 star hotel it is the ideal base for a visit to Rome and The Pantheon is right outside. From this hotel you can walk to all the sights including The Colleseum & Vatican City. Can't fault the hotel and will definitely stay here again.

I am a long time tripadvisor user and reviewer and find this resource great. However, this time I was lead astray. This hotel is a 2 to 3 star tourist trap hiding as a 4 star impersonator. The room was tiny, stuffy, very expensive, worn out, noisy, and just plain awful. The street noise compounded the really terrible room. The flooring was last redone 30 years ago, the bed cover was literally falling apart. No AC and with the unbearable street noise you either lived without air or without sanity. We asked politely to move especially since we were paying top dollar. The staff person politely told us to drop dead. Breakfast OK. Very tough to get to for the taxis. Really nothing to recommend here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere, anywhere else.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Dear Sir / Madame,
We do thank you and all other guests who take their time to write a review, which helps us to improve the service and quality in our hotel.

We have finished to refurbish our first floor completely 2 days ago and will finish with the second floor the next year. The second floor is the only part of the hotel which still has to be refurbished even if it has been refreshed the last year and in any way, tha last time it was refurbished was less then 15 years ago.

Furthermore I would like to inform all our future guests that we do have the aircondition working since the second week in April this year and usually it's working until the end of October / beginning of November. The last years we do not have any autumn or spring any more and the temperature changes radically from day to day. To convert from heather to aircond or conversely may result that for some days the conditioning system won’t work due to the necessity to overhaul the system.

At the end, as a hotel situated in the historical center of Rome with a lot of narrow one way streets, it may seem a long way in taxi but you can drive up by the entrance whithout any problem. The area is not a very busy aera but more a walking area with several pedestrian zones. Make attention that if coming with your own car the hotel is situated in an allowed limited traffic zone. For information, do contact us directly.

Personally I beg your pardon if some of our staff addressed in a way not appropriate and as you can read in mostly of our guests comment it’s not our behaviour.

With Kind Regards

Ann Johansson

The location of the hotel was excellent. Our room was very clean and the staff was very professional and friendly. The mini bar prices were very fair. The bed was really firm but I slept well.

The only issue we had was that the air conditioner was setup to turn off after running a few minutes regardless of the temperature setting. I want the AC running when I get back to my room after walking through Rome all day, especially at a pricey hotel. Wasn't a big deal since it was April but if they use the same settings in the summer it wouldn't work for me.

Overall it was still an excellent experience.

We arrived in Rome late on a Thursday night and were immediately wowed when the taxi pulled up outside the hotel just yards from the pantheon. I say taxi but it was more of a private transfer in a smart Mercedes, arranged by the hotel when we booked (for 55 euros). The staff were so friendly and helpful - whether on reception, on the bar or in the breakfast lounge. The location is second to none, being centrally located for all Rome attractions. This is reflected in the price but we really thought it was worth it for the whole experience. The roof terrace is really cute. It wasn't open during our visit as it wasn't the main holiday season but we spent a couple of afternoons up there reading in the sunshine and enjoyed a cheeky bottle of Prosecco up there.

That's what she said when I showed her the photo I'd taken through the window of our room, with the Pantheon framed in our window, so big and close and incongruous that it didn't even look real!

Other hotels with such a location might not try too hard. But this one does. And as a result, the service is excellent, the room comfortable, the breakfasts very good, and the prices not out of line for all that.

Oh, and the view from the roof-top terrace is stunning.

I'd highly recommend this hotel, especially for first-timers to Rome, as you're close to most things you'll want to do.
