“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed 5 May 2010

What can I say, this hotel is totally amazing! I have recently had a 4 night stay at this hotel at the end of April. From the initial booking process to the hotel itself I have nothing but great comments to add. The weather wasnt bad either!

Upon arrival at the hotel I was excited to find that we had been upgraded to a junior suite with a balcony with views over the side of the Pantheon on the top floor. Room 608 was utterlly fantastic, the decor and size of room was great and the balcony was an added bonus for us. We used this every day morning and evening to sit out and listen to the buzz on the piazza below. The staff on the front desk were great, always friendly and polite and could not do enough for us. Everything we asked them for including local information was great.

The room was really plush, cleaned every day and had a turn down service on an evening with slippers a little goodnight note and chocolates on the bed. All the facilities you would require in a room were provided. A very reasonable mini bar, bath robes, slippers, hairdryer a television and a great alarm clock. Overall a great hotel that I cannot fault at all. The balcony was full of floral plumes which were exceptionally kept.

The breakfast was also extremely nice for a european city. Pastries, yougurts and lovely coffee to set you off on a morning.

The taxi service was used from the hotel for our arrival and departure and this was as smooth as possible and at a reasonable rate.

The hotel is in a perfect location with all the facilities you require. Its perfect walking distance to everything Rome has to offer.

This was our second trip to this amazing city and our first time at this hotel. I can safely say that I would look no futher from now on for accommodation. I am looking forward to booking a return journey to Rome and staying at this fabulous place.

We just got back from a 4 night stay in Rome, staying at this hotel. Everything about this hotel is great, the location (we walked everywhere, but the legs are sore now), friendliness of the staff...the breakfast could have been a litter bigger though!

Stayed at room 205 with a view of the plaza, really beautiful room! The only issue was a visit from small black ants on my bedside table and on the floor some of the evenings! It was really strange, I kept taking them away but there were still ants coming and none of us could make out from where they came. Probably from a hole in the wall or something...luckily, they never decided to climb the bed! As im not the most bug-loving person, the ants resulted in me having a nightmare of a big spider climbing the ceiling and waking up screaming in the middle night, scaring my gf to death! Hilarious... Anyway, aside from the ants, the room was spot-on! Big bathroom with tub and great view of the night-life of the piazza.

We had a great time in Rome, had lots of good food and wine and ice-cream! We will be coming back, but would prefer an ant-free room! :) And the staff were sooo friendly, friendliest staff we've ever met! :)

Dear Sirs,
thank you for your review. It is always useful to have our guests response. Due to guests information we did find out that the ants have nested on the outer wall of the second floor and we are working to resolve the problem once and for all. We do applogize for any inconvenience caused.

With Kind Regards

We had room 603, the room had a balcony and a great view of the Pantheon! We loved this hotel!!! We stayed five nights. My husband kept telling me how great the room was! Room included best view of the Pantheon, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries, safe, hairdryer, mini-bar, nightly turndown service with chocolates, sound proof windows (but we left the windows open because we loved the sound of the piazza (i.e., clip clop of the horses, music, singing - on the weekend there was an opera singer, quite charming!!) Late night/early morning it was dead quiet. At the end of each day, we loved to watch all the activity and drink wine from our balcony. The staff were all polite, very helpful. We enjoyed our included breakfast too, cappuccinos every morning (served by a very nice man, who provided us the great cappuccinos). If you go early enough to get the croissants fresh out of the oven, they will melt in your mouth!! The gelato place across the piazza is wonderful! The little market directly across from the hotel, is a great place to get a tasty sandwich, beer and wine, very friendly people! The hotel recommended a family owned restaurant - Ristorante Due Colonne (Via del Seminario, 122), it was very tasty, reasonably priced, friendly service and just about a block away (as you exit the hotel turn left and left again down the little street, go about 2 blocks, the restaurant will be on your left). That hotel is in a great location, convenient to all bus stops, taxis or walking. This was a great place to end our trip! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!! Highly recommend!!!

My sister and I stayed here twice while in Italy. At the start of our trip for 2 nights, then at the end of our trip for 3 nights. We stayed on the 3rd floor with a view of the Pantheon and the fountain. FANTASTIC. The room was spacious and better than we could have hoped. The breakfast was the best we had whilst in Italy. Such choice and friendly staff.
When we stayed there at the end of our trip we stayed on the 4th floor in one of their renovated rooms. It had the same gorgeous view and the room was even better than the first one. It was a fantastic start and finish to our holiday. I would definately stay there again.

Have just returned from our six day break to Rome. We chose to stay at the Albergo Del Senato having read all the reviews about the hotel here on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. What a wonderful hotel, situated from the Pantheon. Beautiful decor, with wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast very substantial served in a lovely breakfast room. All the historial sites are within easy walking distance of the hotel so you don't have to worry about transport.

If throwing my coins in the Trevi Fountain work, I will be back in Rome at the Del Senato very very soon. Please stay at this hotel, you really will have a wonderful experience.

This is the second time we stayed at Albergo Del Senato, and it was just as wonderful! The staff is so helpful and kind...they made us feel like old friends. Our room was beautiful and extremely clean. From our balcony, the view of the Pantheon and entire piazza was breathtaking. The location of the hotel is ideal for walking to most places in the city.

I stayed here for my freinds wedding in Rome and whatever the reason for your trip I would highly recommend this hotel. Its situated in the sqaure which includes The Panthenon and the hotel has a roof top terrace with a bar, so you can sit and watch the amazing sunsets overlooking The Panthenon, which when lit up at night is beautiful and just watch the world go by. The rooms are comfortable and clean, reasonable size but in Rome the rooms won't be large so be warned. Breakfast was continental style and if you don't fancy that just outside of the hotel in the square there are a variety of restaurants too. Just around the corner is an amazing ice-cream parlour which is a must. As in Rome.......
