“Quick stop to see Michelangelo's Moses”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

This is a small church near the Forum. It was surprisingly crowded. The Moses statue is impressive but it is only one installation. St. Peter 's chains are interesting but I did not feel spiritually moved in here probably because I had just been at St. Paul's outside the Walls which was surprisingly amazing.

“A Must-See”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

It's amazing what you can see--for free--in Rome. This Church could easily charge admission as a museum, with paintings and sculptures throughout, including the famous Michelangelo statue of Moses. On the day we first went, they were closed because of some special performance going on. No problem...we just showed up the next day. It's nearby the Colosseum and other attractions and definitely worth a look. Allow some time to explore everything inside.

We took a walk to find this place, and were glad that we did. If you love churches, don't miss this one.

“Thank you, daughter!”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Our daughter told us to be sure to see this. I'm so glad she did, as we loved it. It's worth going out of your way just to see Michelangelo's HUGE glorious statue of Moses. Freud spent three weeks studying it. Wish I could have! You'll also get to see the spectacular ceiling with an impressive frescoe by Parodi and the Reliquary of the Chains that bound St. Peter. Be sure to see the Tomb of Cardinal Cinzio Passeri Aldobrandini, decorated with scenes of the Grim Reaper. It's very unusual. There's a stunning mosaic of St. Sebastian. More of interest to see here than expected.

“Just Another Church in Rome?”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

Not really. The main draws, certainly, are the chains and the Michaelangelo statue of Moses. It has a long standing history in Rome and is certainly worth a short visit, especially if you are at the Colosseum, just a short walk away. Would I go out of my way just to visit, probably not, but worthwhile if you are in the neighbourhood. There were other Churches, however, that I would go out of my way to revisit.
