Owner description: Perhaps the best-preserved of the monuments of ancient Rome, this huge marble structure was built to hold more than 50,000 spectators to witness bloody contests of might and the slaughter of wild beasts.

Is the restoration of the Colosseum going to impact the visitors' daily traffic? I would say that the archaeologists of Rome did a good job in setting up the monument during this transitional period. The Colosseum needs a deep restoration and for at least two years scaffoldings will continue to wrap the most famous symbol of Rome. In addition there also a chance to book the tickets in advance before getting into the monument.

Do the underground and 3rd tier tour. Worth it!! I have heard the night walking tour was amazing as well. Very crowded, but worth getting a tour for to get the history while you're standing there.

It's beautiful as night as well :)

We booked a trip here while on a med cruise. We were lucky to have a fast track entrery as the queues were absolutely huge! The guide we had was very knowledgable and made the experience floor me. Very busy full of people from all over the world. Keep an eye on your valuables as it could be a pick pockets paradise

This pass got us entry into all three attractions and we bypassed the line at the Colosseum (which were ridiculous), saving us loads of time. The ruins and Forum are amazing to see! I believe we paid about 15 euro (around there anyways)...a fabulous deal!

You can't visit Rome without seeing the Colosseum! The line-ups were crazy but we bought a ticket to get into the Forum which included entry into the Colosseum as well, so we walked right past the lines. It is worth getting a pass ahead of time because the lines were ridiculous. Pretty cool to see though! It just so happened that we were there in the middle of the day so it was busy but going first thing in the morning or later on might be worth a try, as it's hard to get pictures and really take it all in when there's so many people. We never made it down below, as the crowds were a bit overwhelming. Next time I go, I'll try first thing in the morning!
