“Quiet, great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Comfortable beds, our two rooms 004, 005, were both handicapped rooms. Very comfortable beds, and since they were half below ground - very quiet. Very clean. Towels replaced daily, plastic cups, refrigerator...which I never even looked in. Decent a/c as well. Only noise came from hotel guests in the hallway....people forget they aren't the only people around.

Staff - SO GOOD. Mauricio, I believe the GM, was friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to deal with.
Front desk always helpful. Zahid, the bartender, an absolute joy. Such a gentle, attentive man. He has a large area to attend to, but always managed a greeting and a smile when we walked by.

Location. As mentioned by other guests....it is not in the heart of rome, but the bus is very easy. We enjoyed the location. I've been to Rome many times and would certainly consider staying here again.

ONLY COMPLAINT - the breakfast is adequate for filling the void, but a few minor changes could make it so much better. The breads are ALL dry - whether the sweet variety or plain. The yogurt was always runny. I don't eat meat, but others in our party found the meat products a bit unsavory. The beans were good! Scrambled eggs and hard boiled eggs were also offered.

Our first night we ate in the restaurant. The service was attentive and very good. The food was fine, nothing exciting, but it was good. Same room as breakfast and feels like you're at a wedding reception.

Local restaurant La Nocetta, to the right and around the first corner to your left is fantastic....but beware...VERY dangerous walking. My mother in law actually took a tumble. Taking a cab means the minimal charge of 10euro.

FYI.....the hotel used to be a convent.

Room Tip: handicapped rooms...004 and 005 are quiet as on 'street level' but actually a bit below grou...

Late reviewing ... We travelled in January 2014 . We had stayed in Rome before , more centrally , so this time we thought as we would not be doing as much.flying about we could risk being a little further out ... And therefore a bit cheaper .
The hotel was a modern build , with very good sized bedrooms and bathroom was excellent .
The staff were pleasant , small bar on ground floor with a very pleasant barman but we rarely used it .Breakfasts were taken on the top floor and were perfectly adequate . They also did dinner but we did not eat dinner . Others we spoke to said it was good and good value .
The bus stops outside hotel but you need a ticket to get on so walk up to main road ( ie turn left out of hotel gates ) and turn left at lights , cross road go left to a little bar / shop . Don't do as we did and buy just that days as it will mean you have to walk again the next day . Buy 2 or 3 days as hey are not dated till you stamp them when you get on the bus .Having got tickets walk back on yourselves to the large road going left "Gregory 7th " bus stop is in the middle section of road .
All in all from leaving hotel gates to getting ticket and on bus will take about 20 mins ... Bus ride takes about 10 mins ..
We got a taxi back each day from various places but cost generally 11 to 14 euros .
Hotel recommends hotel but we went to another and was very pleased.... VERY friendly and helped with choices , and very reasonable prices . busy with locals too.
We turned RIGHT out of hotel down to the junction , then turned LEFT ( the one the hotel recommends is to the right ) ... Walk along road ( no pavements ) for about 5 minutes and it is on left ... Sorry I've forgotten name and lost receipt .
A very reasonable short city break .
I do think that if it was my first time in Rome ... With so many sights to see , I would prefer to be more central to save travelling time .

Room Tip: We were in room 305 (front ) and it was good ... Some road noise at rush hour but acceptably so .

Positives:
Staff excellent and provided good service
Comfortable, clean room
Nice bathroom

Negatives:
Dirty glasses remained in the room for our entire stay without being removed or replaced
Below parr breakfast. A good enough selection but breads/pastries etc were stale everyday.
Room a bit small
Thin walls so could disturb sleep if you have noisy neighbours (hallway noise was very loud)

Also, when we arrived the receptionist said the hotel was full and we were transferred to the nearby Crowne Plaza for the first night of our stay which was quite disruptive.

Overall, good value for money.

Stayed over Easter and everything was perfect...the staff were so helpful with all our questions and told us what number bus to get to the various landmarks...metro was about a 10 minute walk but bus 2 mins from hotel and after a long day walking around Rome you could come and relax in the hotel bar and use the free wifi...our room was on the ground floor and had all the mod cons but the best part was the fantastic shower.
Breakfast was good and the restaurant staff very helpful
Slightly out of town but plenty of buses to all Rome has to offer and away from the hustle and bustle .
Would recommend this hotel to all and if I ever go to Rome again this is where I would stay.

We spent four nights at the Esh Executive in Nov. of 2013 and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, continental breakfast was good but the best was the service of the young women at the desk. They gave us excellent advise on what to do and how to get around Rome. We would recommend this hotel as it is reasonably priced and in a good location (easy access to public transportation).

Stayed for 4 nights middle March. Located out of center but that's what we like and we'd rather spend money on other things. You are going to buy Roma Pass (34euro) so as long as metro nearby - all fun!

Breakfast was good without being spectacular. Bacon/eggs/cold meats cheeses cakes, fruit etc. All good quality and filled us up! Ignore moans about coffee machine - its gives out good coffee! and it's convenient.

Room very comfortable and smart. Bathroom very clean and nice. Fridge in room - always good!

Only one english news channel on TV, but I'm knackered at end of each day and as long as I get the news :)

Ate 25euro set meal in hotel on one night. As it comes with half bottle wine each and three courses and very good size servings no complaints.

Also tried nearby (10 minute walk) La Nochetta restaurant - Very good home coked Italian food.

About 15 minute walk from nearest metro and as others say bus stop outside - Get Roma Pass! I liked walk to metro. Street view on Google etc area looks bit off putting - it's not dangerous! Very quite area. Nothing threatening.

I would use this hotel again if visiting Rome.

Room Tip: Repeating myself - Buy Roma Pass at Airport etc. Worth every euro!

I visited this hotel for 5 days back in Dec 2013 (sorry for late review!)

The location was good, I went with my younger sister and mum so we were up to the walking and catching the bus to the station. The underground service was cheap and easy to use and we were lucky the weather was great. we did had a travel guide was explained the underground lines but the hotel gave us a local map and highlighted local restaurants and stations.

One one of the days we walked to the vatican city, it was a good hour walk but we were taking our time and stopped off in one of the coffee shops on the way.,

The hotel itself is modern and clean, wifi is a bit rubbish but I wasn't too bothered by that as I was hardly in the hotel in the daytime and exhausted by the time I arrived back!

the restaurant was fantastic, really big portions for dinner at a reasonable price and buffet breakfast was great, with a friendly waiter offering us fresh Italian expresso which was tasty

The only reason i didn't give it a higher rating was that it was noisy on some nights, perhaps we were unlucky as there was a coach full of tourist arriving at 2am!

and we had to move rooms because there was a sewage smell coming from the toilet and the toilet wouldn't flush by the second day.... However the hotel moved us straight away with no problems

there was no gym or pool hence why I gave it a low rating, personally that did not bother me as I only used the hotel to sleep, shower and have breakfast!
