“Amazing works of art inside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

Lots of reasons to see this church - mainly a chapel filled with Bernini sculptures, and another one with two masterpieces by Carravaggio. Plus, the location at the north end of town is near the city wall, and not too far from the Borghese Gallery, so there's lots to see in the neighborhood...also near the metro.

“Fascinating Sculptures”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is a small church, in a lovely area. There is a beautiful plaza around it and a nice neighborhood for wandering. We were most intrigued by all the odd sculptures to be found there - a little on the macabre-side with a dash of...pirates?

“Caravaggio”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

The main aim is the see the Caravaggio paintings. The church is nice and very worth. Only downside is the very very aggressive beggars who keeps haunting you for money. They don't take NO for an answer, Watch out for your belongings too.

“Lovely Church with two Caravaggio's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

The purpose of my visit here was to see the two Caravaggio's that are within this little church. The church itself is just off the main Piazza del Popolo and is worth a visit. It has the usual chapels within it with their own paintings and frescoes which are equally as beautiful but it is the Crucifixion of St Peter and The Conversion Of St. Paul On The Road To Damascus that drew me in. They are just wonderful and no entrance fee except the euro required to light the little chapel.

“For the carvaggios”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

This church is located by the bottleneck end of the piazza di popolo, (the square of the people), on the other side of the two large domed churches. Similar to a lot of the other Roman churches, but significant for its Carvaggios, one of which is one of my favorite paintings. Only carvaggio would paint such a human rendering of a crucified saint- and in the forefront the looming backside of an assistant.
