Owner description: Located in the heart of Rome, this vibrant and elegant square is surrounded by 18th-century buildings augmented by the colorful flowers that adorn the Spanish Steps. The elegant steps by Francesco de Sanctis (1723-1726) consist of twelve flights of varying width, which descend to the scenic Franciscan Church of Trinita dei Monti.

Nice stop on the way to Galleria Borghese. The views are great. Fantastic shopping near by. The teenagers enjoyed the spaciousness...and access to shopping.

Didnt really know ehat to expect here but it was definitely worth it. But don't spend to much time here. Take a couple of nice pictures from the bottom. Walk up the stair to the top and take even nocer pictures looking down and that's basically it. Ladies beware of all the guys handong out roses "for free" they will come back in a linute and ask you for money anyway!

You will need to find some energy to walk down and up the Spanish Steps. We arrived from the bus and approached from the top of the steps. They can be a little bit slippery. When I finally got to the bottom there was a lovely little fountain and shops. It took most of my energy to climb back to the top and continue back to my bus stop. Lots of people sitting on the steps. Was worth the trip.

There is history everywhere in Rome. Don’t go out of your way for this one. It’s called Spanish step because the Spanish Embassy is near by.

Like the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps are worth a stop on your tour of Rome. They’re located not far from each other so it’s very easy to do both of them by foot. Also very grand with lots of high end fashion shops surrounding the steps.
